You both know that Rounders isn't a 'real' sport right?

He'll be moving from slightly off center of the States over to the east coast, may suit him better but he is getting on maybe age has finally caught up with him. Course last season could have just been a blip and he comes back with a regular Sammy year, OR not having those corked bats anymore hurt him :-D

I'm not sure about the geographical location of Baltimore in comparison to Chicago but I would guess that Sosa was no longer happy at the Cubs, especially after they bumped him down the batting lineup. He did have a pretty bad season last year. Maybe he just needed a fresh start.

I think Baltimore will be looking for a wild card place at the very best. A .500 season or better wouldn't be so bad for them I think.

What do you think about Sosa going to Baltimore?

Yeah, I've found, on a rather limited level, practise, practise, practise and then something clicks and it becomes easy. All you have to do is replicate it every time.

I reckon he is just seeing the ball better than he ever did and he is reading the pitches much more. The fact that his numbers have been good for a number of years suggests how good he's become.

I think the only reason they can even hit Bonds with that accusation is because his numbers suddenly shot up one season. Now if the media actually bothered to look through the history of sports they'd find that does actually happen, a player practices and suddenly something clicks (perfect example this year is Drew Brees in Gridiron, no ones saying he took steroids though) and his numbers shoot up.

Just trying to take a great man and his great achievement and blacken his name just because it makes a couple week's worth of news and makes some jealous, scorned 'word for female dog' famous for a while

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. It would improve his power but he'd have to hit them. I doubt he'd be taking them now or have taken them for a number of years, if he had taken them at all.

I think this report is basically just a bit of a name blackener, especially with the recent 'Drugs in baseball' headlines towards the end of last season. I can't see how any of his past actions could be proved, if it happened at all.

Indeed that was my first reaction, i stopped paying any attention to what she said after that. He left her with a big mortgage on a house apparently, hmmmm of course her testimony won't be at all biased

Correct, not that steroids help that much anyway, sure it'll give you distance on your bat but you still have to hit that 99mph fastball and nothing can help you with that

I take it that by using the word 'mistress', it is implying that she is Barry Bonds' ex? She probably would say something derogatory if that is the case.

I don't know much about the rules history in baseball but I assume it was illegal/frowned upon to take steroids etc but there were no measures in place to detect whether someone was taking something or not.
