Not really. I used to play Sonic 1 all the time and completed it in numerous ways, one of which was with a joystick. I was particularly pleased with that. It's harder to get all the rings on the first level than on the second.

I never really watched Gamesmaster all that much. I bet you found that score in that time limit hard to beat though.

Sonic 2 was tricky but not impossible. I completed it late one night and I was pretty damn satisfied with myself and I then completed it again easily when I found an easy way to kill the big boss at the end.

Did you know that you can get all 7 emeralds by the end of the first zone? Very interesting that. The music is fantastic.

Did anyone see that kid on Gamesmaster when it first came on? He said he could get 160 rings and complete the 2nd level on Sonic 1 in less than 2 minutes. There is only 163 rings on the level. He did it with about 5 seconds left. I tried it and got all 163 with 15 seconds left.

I love Sonic games.

I used to have a megadrive..with Sonic 2. I completed it! Whether or not I used cheat codes, I can't remember..
