I'm a coder, admittedly not hardcore like C++ etc, but mainly for Macromedia programs such as Director and Flash. Bit of Vis Basic too.
Unlike you though football is my heaven.

Not all of us. A football fan with an encyclopaedic knowledge of teams, games won, lost, dates, trivia etc ect is something I consider far "geekier". At least I can personally talk to other people about other subjects, whereas when I'm out with a couple of football fans, its all they talk about. relentlessly. All night.......
