Harrison pulled the duvet over his shivering body, and snuggled down for a good night’s sleep. As his weary eyes became heavier, he smiled as he thought of the past week. Harrison loved his job. He enjoyed doing it himself, and he provided entertainment for everyone else as well. The pay was okay-not brilliant, but enough for him to live a healthy, happy life.

Harrison had no wife. He had tried and failed, but to be honest, he didn’t really care. Most days he was at work from 9am ‘till very late, especially when the shows were on (normally he’d go for a celebratory pint with a few of his many mates.) After a few conversation-less dinners, he decided that love was just an obstacle, getting in the way of his job. He had enough love anyway. His parents were still alive, as were his 2 brothers, Mark and Gary. He was very close to his family, and visited them all the time. Mark and Gary would sometimes stay the night after watching one of his shows live.

He had children’s love as well. He was adored by kids all over the country, and after every show he made sure that he talked for a couple of minutes to at least 10 children. His life was totally perfect, he was sure of it. There was always a small nagging at the back of his mind that something was missing, but he ignored it, and it was pushed right to the back of his mind until it’s faint squeaking was almost nothing.

His eyelids fell, and he drifted off into a deep sleep.

He awoke at about 8am by someone moving around the room. He thought it was a burglar, and he was torn between getting up and doing something, or to keep his eyes tight shut and pretend to be asleep. In the end he gathered all his courage, and he suddenly jumped out of bed and ran towards the mysterious long-haired person (who strangely enough seemed to be putting clothes in drawers.) Unfortunately for Harrison, the burglar turned and smiled brightly at him. Harrison stopped in his tracks, shocked.

The person standing in front of him was a woman…she was beautiful. Her long dark hair fell to her shoulders, and her thin, wet lips complimented her smooth, tanned face. She had a slender figure, and a medium-sizes breasts, not too big, not too small. Her long legs were half-covered by a skirt, and her small feet were inside red slippers. But what Harrison really noticed about her was the eyes. They were a gorgeous sea-green, and he found himself becoming lost in them as he stared in awe at her. (Sorry Grix, obviously Harrison likes eyes more than you do. :))

“Hello darling.” She said kindly, a smile forming across her tender skin.

Harrison was speechless.

“Oh Harry, you’re so silly when you’ve just woken! C’mon, we’re gonna have a great day together. It’s Saturday, why don’t we go out somewhere together?”

Harrison’s eyes fell across the clothes she was carrying.

“Oh yes, I got up a bit early this morning to do some of the chores. Oh, I forgot! I’m making your breakfast downstairs, a nice fry-up for my favourite husband!” She said, letting out a small giggle which made Harrison’s heart rise.

“Look, get dresses, come and have your breakfast, and then we’ll think about what to do today, shall we?”

Harrison gained control of his senses, and slowly nodded.

“Great!” She said grinning, before running down the carpeted stairs.

For a few moments Harrison stood in shock. Who was this woman? Where had she come from? She’d called him her husband…he didn’t have a wife! Or did he? And the strange thing was…she was perfect. She was extremely good-looking (although others might not think that, she sure looked great to him,) and from what he’d seen, she had an amazing personality. She was very giggly and exuberant, probably rather sensitive as well. As he put his jeans on, he realised something. He was in love with this woman.

He saw a card across the room. He opened it, and inside it said,

“To my dear Harrison,

Happy 1st Anniversary! I have loved you since the day I met you, and will do until the day I die.

Love, your wife, Amanda. XXXX”

Amanda. That was her name. She was his wife, and just a few days ago it must’ve been their first anniversary. Then he must have…yes, there it was. An anniversary card for her, from him. He opened it, and is said basically what Amanda had said, but he had also mentioned the date of when they had met. The 26th March 2002.

He went downstairs, and walked into the Lounge. It was a little…different. There were some paintings on the wall he’d never seen before, and instead of the Fireplace which took dozens of pieces of coal to light, there was a rather ravishing Electric Fireplace.

He made his way to the kitchen, which had completely changed. He went to the fridge to get some milk, but was greeted by a lot of ice, some frozen bread and a box of Chicken-O’s.

“What are you doing, silly?” Amanda said with a laugh, “Don’t you remember, we had the kitchen done-up! The fridge is over there,” she pointed behind Harrison, to where the Washing Machine used to be.

He swigged some milk out of the bottle, before sitting down to his fry-up. Amanda joined, and said she was thinking that they should go for a walk down the park, and then perhaps see a movie and have dinner at a fancy restaurant. Harrison readily agreed.

As Harrison and Amanda walked hand-in-hand past the beautiful sunflowers at the local park, Harrison became happier by the minute. He now was sure that he did have a wife, and he guessed that a lack of sleep lately due to a lot of work (not that he minded,) had affected him. He had fallen for Amanda straight away, and was ready to live the rest of his life with her.

As the day flew by, his brain suddenly seemed to find out all these things about her. He found she was 31, just a year younger than him, and that she had been born in St Albans. Both her parents were dead, but she still had a sister called Kerry, who visited them all the time.

After the movie, which was called, “Roses and Violets,” Amanda chatted to him about where they first met.

“Do you remember?” She asked.

“Yes,” Harrison said, “It was at that pub, when you spilt beer all over me!”

“But it was an accident!” She said, a big grin on her face.

“Oh yeah, ‘course it was,” Harrison scoffed.

They had a nice Pasta meal at their favourite Italian restaurant, before walking home as the sunset. They sat and watched it, Amanda’s head resting on Harrison’s shoulder.

For the rest of the evening they just talked. They talked about anything-themselves, the weather, politics and even video games were mentioned. At around midnight they headed off to bed.

Harrison smiled as his weary eyes became heavy. His life was totally perfect, he was sure of it. And this time, there was no small nagging at the back of his mind. Not even a faint squeak.

His eyelids fell, and he drifted off into a deep sleep.

Harrison awoke at about 9am. He felt for Amanda next to him, and found nothing. He sat bolt upright, and looked around the room. No cards…He rushed downstairs and found no new paintings, and the kitchen was how he’d left it before…

It was a dream. It had all been a dream. He couldn’t believe it.

He sadly walked up to the calendar to check the date. It was the 26th March 2002. He turned away and went to make some breakfast, when…

He checked the date again. 26th March 2002. The day he and Amanda had met.

That day Harrison went to a pub, where a woman spilled beer all over him. He laughed her apologies off, as he knew it was an accident. They got talking, and he asked her out for dinner that night. Just before they both left the pub, she told him her name.

Amanda.

Harrison was either:

A). Someone on telly.

B). Someone who worked in a circus, or live kids entertainment.

C). Someone who worked with handicapped children.
