... but I don't mean it to be.

Can everyone stop bein so miserable.

Yes, something terrible has happened today.

Yes mourn, and be sad.

But DON'T be sad for the rest of your life. I think this event shows that life can be short, do you really want to spend your life being sad?

Life is a unique opportunity. You only get to live it once. Learn from this terrible event. Next time you get in an argument about something petty, ignore it. It doesn;t matter.

Life is to be enjoyed, so enjoy it.

I'm not sure if I've managed to say what I want to say, but I hope people on here understand what I mean....

But not being funny, despite stringent security on other
flights, plnaes still get hi-jacked. Once they have been hijacked, how can you physically stop someone flying it into a building?

You can't.

Your right. However, the US government had a duty to do everything in it's power to reduce the possibility of such a terrorist attack. If security of so poor then they have questions to answer.

I agree.

The problem with terrorism is that there is so many attempted attacks that some are bound to get past security and intelligence. Having said that I was listening to a radio phone-in early this morning and people were talking about the poor security at US airports. Callers were saying that security for internal flights was 'just like getting on a bus'. If that is the case then the US government are guilty of failing to protect their own people. It will be a lesson for all western governments and the UK in particular, who face ongoing terrorists threat from Northern Ireland.

I know what you mean, I'm really struggling to get on with any work, my head just can't comprehend everything that's gone on.

The sad truth is that we won't see an end to terrorism in our life times. The whole world has to change in it's attitude, and that's not going to happen.

There will always be fundamentalists, hell-bent on destroying what's different and what they don't agree with, and if the USA do manage to wipe out this wave of them, another wave will only come along later.

I think that there is a mixture of sorrow and anger of what has happenend but also there is a great deal of fear of what will unfold over the coming weeks.

Bush addresses his nation early this morning and said "America will make no distinction between terrorists and those that harbour them". It is fair to assume then that once the perpetrators are known then the country of their origin will face an unprecedented attack. It seems likely that this will be Afgahnistan. It would also seem likely that other countries who have previously carried out terrorist attacks will also face a US backlash.

The consequences of the retaliation will have implications for us all. It is believed that many terrorist organisations have nerve gas in their armoury. A small amount of nerve gas (just enough to fit into a brief case) can wipe out an entire city.

We (the US and it's allies) have no choice but to stand up to the terrorists and for the good of future generations these terrorists have to be removed. However, there is no doubt the stakes are VERY high and more bloodshed is a certainty.

In the circumstances I feel there is very little to feel good about this morning.

he he, I don't think people shouldn't be affected by this terrible incident, millions of people should be set back in shock, but to not feel anything about it isn't right, but don't get angry, and don't be grateful it wasn't your building being hit, we shouldn't have to live in fear, why should we have to even think about this kind of thing happeneing, I know it's the truth and whathas happened, but we should leave those things to the people involved to decide.
I'm feel sorry for everyone who has lost family and friends in this event, but hopefully the right thing will be done, and all precautions will be set up.
As the minister of the Pentagon said, "there are130 different ways of creating an act of terrorism, we can't protect the nation against all 130" it is very true, nothing can be forseen, and although this wasn't an act of god, it was controlled by evil people, in an age like this, should we have people treating other people like this? priorities should be reset. But I can't understand anyone who feels the bad people involded have a point, no one should die for religion, surely we're all equal in these ways.
