Could be good on Cube.
The design of the multiplayer levels I've played on so far has been good, there is one massive level which we played a 14 player deathmatch with each player having 10 lives. It was a long tactical game.
Apart from the small amount of play (about 20-25 mins for EACH of the first two levels) I'm very happy with it.
Can't wait to try out the multiplayer. They should have had made more emphasis that the multi has bots though, the game's cover doesn't mention this at all which gave me the wrong impression that it didn't have any, Die Hard: Vendetta did the same forgetting to mention it had multiplayer bots.
Yeah they are cool features, buuuut........
Its a bit genero and poor in places.
Hmm.
I have to say that from a multiplayer perspective (and having only read the manual so far) it looks as though Ninty's should rejoice.
There's some nice stuff here by the looks of things, such as multiple types of ammo and a nice looking arrests system which builds towards your rating for the level which in turn unlocks secrets.
Anyway I'm off to actually play the damn thing now. :D
It's action pretty much all the way, though I never figured out why rival gangs would operate in the same area. Once you take down one gang, you only need to take a few steps more to meet another, and it's shooting all the way.
The Lawgiver (or that big gun dredd uses) is a nice enough addition, complete with all different type of ammunition, but you don't need them, the default bullets are enough to take down anything the game can throw at you with little or no effort.
It was fun in some areas, crap in most. Some nice graphics which have been ripped off from Timesplitters, but really nothing to shout about, oh and hope you like advertising in game because according to Rebellion, Red Bull will be the only drink to survive a nuclear war. Crates of the stuff piled everywhere, I don't mind advertising now and again in games, but I don't like to be force fed it.
Anyway, I'd give this one a miss unless the developers pull something spectacular out of their ass before it's finished, which is unlikely.
Perhaps not.
