In Israel/Palestine (what ever you claim it to be called) today a Palestinian policeman has been killed in an Israeli reprisal for three Palestinian attacks. And it keeps going on. Day after day Israel are attack in "response" to a Palestinian attack and then the Palestinians are "responding" and thus it keeps going on and on as innocent people, doing their jobs sometimes like this policeman are being victims of these people who just can't get along.
Okay, okay. Israel took over Palestine and forced out some of them from their homes but that was in the 1940s for goodness sake. There has been continuous tension in this area between the two sides simply because we can't get along. What kind of people live in our world that are prepared to kill people for a solution they are never going to get. There is no way the Israelis will share their country more than they are already and therefore the only way the Palestinians will get it back is if they destroy Israel and take over the country. To do this you are going to need lots of weapons, lots of power and lots more people. How they think an occassional assassination or a car bomb will help I have no idea - it will just make the situation worse. And is there any need for responses to the attacks by the Israelis? No. That makes them as worse as the Palestinians who carry out these attacks and just makes the tension worse. Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres and Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat are to meet tomorrow in an attempt to defuse tension in the Middle East. How they expect to do this I have no idea. If only they were prepared to share the country as their parents should have taught them they could live quite happily but they are too selfish to do so - they want it all (especially Israel I'm on no particular side here but they always seem to be the ones who won't give it up - but I can't say I wouldn't blame them after all the hassle the Palestinians have given them in the past).
However this situation does not look like it will ever be solved as neither side are willing to make a compromise solution and it's stupid - it would stop all these necessary deaths.
It's not just these people in Israel and Palestine that make this world an almost embarrassing place. If we look to that giant continent Africa where hundreds of people are dying from hunger and aids because they simply have no money for better healthcare and knowledge about contraception and no money or good environments for growing food. We are just sitting here in our comfortable homes while millions, billions of people are dying - some even young children (and I mean young). Children who have nothing like the lives we have - we take clean water for granted while they value it greatly. Yet we just don't help. We feel sad when we see pictures, sit back and are thankful it isn't us that it's happening to and then.. we forget. What kind of a world is this where we forget about people that are dying in such huge numbers?
In Ireland recently in the news protesters from the Protestant side of the the city are being terrible human beings to the Catholic children who need to pass through their area to their school. These are children for crying out loud that they were blowing horns at and even blowing up bombs near. What kind of a world is this where people are prepared to carry this out? It's disgraceful. And meanwhile England who should be sorting this problem out are doing relatively little to help this problem. However it's not mainly our fault - it's again people who are refusing to co-operate and carrying out bomb attacks - pointless bomb attacks - to "try" and sort out the problem. But how that is going to work I have no idea. At least we don't try to retaliate and take more meaningful and better ways to solve the solution. But the problem is there is no real solution - some people can't change.
We are also in a world where our country is turning out aslyum seekers - people who have tried to come to England for a better life - but we won't let them. All they want is to get good living conditions, food that won't kill them, jobs in a country their own cannot provide. Hence why some are so desperate they sneak aboard trucks. How can we turn away such people who just want to look after themselves?
And it's not just know we have lived in a world where dictators such as Stalin and Hitler that have killed people for power and brought fear into millions and have started wars we could do without that kill even more people. Even children are victimised by bullying some so much they commit suicide it's sad but it happens. People just can't get along - no matter how many try there are always ones that ruin it and ones that just won't help. There are the school bullies that punch victims for fun - making their lives horrible and the people who sit back and let it happen just glad it won't happen to them. It's what we humans seem to do.
What kind of world do we live in where people can do this to one another... What kind of world?
and the only way to stop this is to kill these Palestinians who did it - wipe them all out so they won't do it again..
but then that makes us as bad (and even worse) than them
> Violence never solves anything.
I agree but that view has lost it's credibility the minute the UK government allowed Irish terrorists to come to the negotiating table AND also allowed convicted bombers to be released from prison. That was (in my view) a really bad decision and it sent out a message that will encourage terrorists all over the world. Whatsmore it has got us nowhere. Negotiations are no further forward, the IRA have not given up their arms and we now have conficted terrorists walking as free men instead of being locked behind bars.
I think we must stand up to the terrorists - at all costs. Furthermore we should 'take out' dictators at every opportunity. During the US and UK bombing raids on Tripoli (Libya) in the 1980's we could have, and should have, kept on bombing until Colonel Gadaffi was wiped out. Similarly we could have kept bombing Saddam Hussains hide-out during the Gulf War. On both occasions we stopped short of doing the World a service by removing these evil and barbaric dictators.
> Itīs many sick people out there.
Yeah, your right. Today's events have been mind-blowing. Also to think just days ago we had terrorists in Northern Ireland trying to bomb 5yr kids on their first day of school.
The attitudes of some people (such as the palestinians) defies belief. They are celebrating wildly today after seeing pictures of the attacks on America. People dancing, waving flags and tooting horns. How can anybody celebrate such an attack which may have claimed as many as 50,000 lives ?.
What was bombing that meant to achieve? The world's disgusted and so they should be. And the people responsible probably don't even care because 'they had to do it'.
Yet they didn't have to do it. Violence never solves anything. If they wanted to make their point they should have declared it to the world instead of just doing it. All it has done is make some people very mad at the cost of many people's lives. Was that worth it? NO.
I'm sure the

I'd beg to differ. Religion does cause lots of conflict. The Arab Israeli tension would cease to exist if Israel were not Jewish - because they wouldn't believe in Zionism. On the other hand the Arabs are Muslims and want back Palestine/Israel as it contains one of their holy cities - Jerusalem. This is why Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and all the other nations have got involved in the four wars they have had against Israel.
Sure the world wars 1 and 2 were mostly about different reasons but Hitler persecuted the Jewish religion during the 2nd world war did he not. Religion always comes in to the equation some where.
Also as Andrew Hunt said the situation in Ireland is mainly a conflict between protestants and catholics.
And as someone mentioned before we can't forget the crusades where Christians tried to recapture the holy city of Jerusalem.
The problem with religions is they sometimes overlap. Religions sometimes have the same sacred place like Jerusalem and when two religions are unwilling to share this is the problem. Also people of religions who live in other countries where their religion is dominated by another as in Britain they require places to worship because it is their right. Hence the tension "Why have you got a mosque in our country - this is a christian country"
Religion which should make peace sadly and strangely doesn't.
One thing springs to my mind after Goatboy said "Humans = Virus" - the Matrix. I think the Agent who talked to Morpheous was correct in saying we were a virus. We clearly do seem to destroy our world and all the people in it while other creatures can live nicely together.
for this topic.
People = Virus
That simple really.
And yeah, that Angel of Death was a nasty one.
But Shiva The Destroyer had him beat, that cat wasn't on holy orders.
