For my GCSE I.C.T. poject, I'm making I.T. solutions for a new computer games shop (which specialises in Nintendo games). Anyway, one of my tasks is to make a website for them. And, on this website, I want to add an advertising banner to every page (like the one at the top of this page). Also, like SR's sites, I want the site to randomly choose a banner from a selection of banners. So, say, if you refreshed the page a few times, it would display a different banner every time. Can anyone help me out?

Kap, did you really need to copy his whole post? I really hate it when people pointlessly do that. Just to crank up their word count. Anyway, I should be able to manage with that cjh. :P Only joking, it's perfect. Are you on MSN? Just incase!

I know what you mean, so you can't really run Server based Scripts.... here is a JavaScript thing I made, which just randomly puts Advert Banners in place on a Web Page, it doesn't keep track of clicks or anything, but it randomly places them, which I think will do for what you want.

Hopefully you'll catch on as to how this works, but if not, I'll try and explain it more.

When I say that I'll host it on my computer, I simply mean that it'll be stored on my hard drive and all links will be to files on my hard drive. The site cannot be viewed by any other computer. Do you see?

Oh, so this shop is just fictional for your project.... sorry, I didn't get that at first (duh me).

Well, I'm not sure how you host a Web Site using PHP, CGi etc on your own computer, though it's possible, it may bee a lot of work for just a project, so probably best to just stick it on Freeola account (assuming you have one)

Though you could easily fack it, just fill in a txt file with things like:

The only evidence that will be given to the assessing board is printouts, so the site will only be hosted on my computer.

Andrew, 3 Months, WOW.

Anyway, just wanted to ask, does the Freeola Ad banner Program support any type of meadia for the banner area, like HTML (list boxes etc), Flash Banners.... or was it designed to only use Image banners???

I just want to see, if it took 3 months for just Banners, god knows how long for other media...
