The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
Buy it now (you get the first 30 days free, you don't have to enter a credit card or anything) and then it works out at around £7 a month thereafter if you want to carry on playing online. (There's no offline mode).
The one thing that worried me about EverQuest was its playability, would I enjoy it if I was only playing it in little bursts of an hour at a time? The answer is yes, it's VERY easy to do in little bursts, as opposed to most online games that require you to have no life whatsoever and spend sleepless nights killing loads of mobs just to reach the next level to get a new pair of boots.
If you're still not convinced, wait for the glowing review to be posted a little later on when I've finished my next quest :)
Not sure what races and classes they have but i'll probably be either a wizard or archer

That's all the known quests.
The printed map that comes with the game has the N/S directions messed up, the compass is upside down basically, remember that when navigating.
Speak to the first NPC you see, or one nearby, they've usually got your first quest. Each time you hit a new level, check every NPC in your starting town for a quest. They'll not always have one for you, but generally you get them at levels 1,2,3,4,5,7,10,13,15,17 and 20.
I'm totally addicted too which is bad news for college. What the hell, you only live once.

I got a promo from SCEE, now must wait until I get RJ-45 cable.

Click R3, type what you want to say, press Enter to say it. There's "Say" mode where people hear you locally, "Shout" mode where people can hear you up to 400m away, "Tell" mode to message an individual privately and of course "Guild" chat. You set the mode you want to use with a quick tap of L2 and a couple of taps of the D-pad.

Get a keyboard, you can get a USB one for around £5.99, well worth it. Allows you to chat and fight/be on the move at the same time so speeds up levelling.

Either, you can select Auto Attack On/Off in the Options menu. Personally I prefer Off as each mob requires a slightly different approach.

Very good, harsh but fair.
Great game though if you have the hours to put in, Neverwinter Nights on PC is great also.
Last year you could buy peoples characters on ebay, some with good stats etc were going for quite high prices, don't know if the same is still true.
