Is my Gamecube/TV about to blow up?
Or have Amazon tampered with my disc? (it's cheap as chips there: £29.99)

There are glitches in every game, the majority of games i play on fifa are perfect, other times there may be glitches. The disapperance of the indicator is normally caused by changing camera angles etc, and the reason why it comes back next match is cus the camera changes properly. Other glitches i cant explain, but in total i have been affected less by glitches in this game than by glitches in Fifa 03.
Must be worth a shot...

The only time mine crashed was because my cube was pushed right against my tv and it wasnt well ventilated. If i were you i'd check that you are getting good ventilation to your cube, cus it might just be that the game is sensitive...
Also i found a few in game glitches as well. 1. the name indicator disappered midgame and didnt appear until the next game, and also my player was running with the ball all of a sudden he starts having what looks like a epileptic fit and starts jumping up and down and it wouldn't let me change player.
its a good game but its disappointing that woolworths wouldn't let me have money back.

Yeah, 50hz is my prefered selection, i have had no slowdown at all, not even with the most detailed teams and stadiums. With 60hz mode it is ok with the lower league teams (less finely detailed) and you can avoid slowdown by using the square style/ euro stadiums etc.
I also agree that floodlights do spoil the replays, but more often than not, they work fine if you go into the menu and choose instant replay.
