I'm new to Python and was wondering if anyone had some good books or websites to help me get started. Also could you share your experiences with Python and how you went about learning it.

Its not so bad once you get used to it. What annoyed me wasnt even Python's fault really. The editor I used at the time used to helpfully auto-indent lines for you. The problem was that it used a mixture of tabs & spaces (Python doesnt like that). So I'd end up with lots of errors without actually realising it. Still I prefer my code blocks with actual keywords/characters to begin & end them. :)

Do you know if there's a way to make it less of a pain, like using an editor or something?

Nothing wrong with Python if you can tolerate the indentation (I cant!) I suppose.
