No, but there's a Miramax connection and Bob Weinstein connection.
It's a little cameo, I watched that awful, awful movie to see the Dastardly Duo in action.

What a terrible, terrible film.
Scream parodied the horror genre, and then they made another 2.
Now THAT is irony

I guess Jay and Silent Bob have delusions of grandeur then. Not content with the small indie world of Kevin Smith they had to move on to the greater climbs of the Scream Franchise. Of course this ignores the fact that Bob is Kevin Smith. Maybe he was trying to get an inside look at Wes Craven's directing tricks.

All Kevin Smith's films have Ben affleck and most have matt damon. Also Jason Lee (not the ex-Notts Forest striker of pineapple-on-his-head fame) and some random girl who Kevin Smith went out with. There's a whole load of them who are in every single Kevin Smith film

Chasing Amy is the most serious of Kevin Smith's films, but bear in mind Trigger Happy TV is more serious than all of Kevin Smith's films combined...

Chasing Amy is worth watching just for one scene with Jay and Silent Bob. Bob begins to say something and Jay interrupts and says, 'what?! You think that just because you don't say a word anything you do say suddenly becomes incredibly important'. You have to see it because obviously that is said in a uniquely Jay way.

I thought I would hemp the vottantor to understand Kevin Smith's films. All of them have Jay and Silent Bob in them. They are not sequels; they just all contain those two guys. From his first film Clerks, to Mall Rats, to Chasing Amy, to Dogma, to their own movie. Apparently he's ditching them after this movie though because they're becoming a bit tired. Oh, and Kevin Smith is Silent Bob, I think.

Mall Rats is his best film, it's far far funny than Dogma, which was damn funny itself.
