I've read most of the long topic started by JimTopBloke, just want to ask couple of things:

What is the best chip to get, what does it play and can it be switched off so I can use Xbox Live ?

This is coming from a child who wants to mod his Xbox. Yes very mature approach.

People who mod their Xbox's need to

A) get a life
B) get out a bit more often
C) Curl up in a corner and preferably die

Modded Xbox's in the future are gonna open up Xbox Live to all kinds of sad, pasty faced hackers. There's already a problem with hackers on Wolfenstein, they use Action Replay and are able to do all manor of annoying things.

If you have any sense and actually care at all about the games industry you won't mod your Xbox.

Who were you calling immature?

Modders are pathetic little social outcasts that get a boner because they've got bigger hardrives than everyone else, which at the end of the day makes very little/no difference because you're never gonna fill the thing up anyway.

"Having a bigger hardrive and being able to use copied games will not improve your social status, you need to get out more and loose the acme and pasty complection to do that"

They should have that warning with every modded Xbox.

All I want to play is import games.....

Most Xbox games come out over here a couple of weeks after the US launch.

Meh, I'm going to give my Xbox a redesign when the warranty is up, something like the white Panzer Draggon Saga but with an anime design :)
