ooh, well lardee dar. ;D
I wonder if you could use any headset with live...? I fancy one of those massive affairs that air traffic controllers wear.

But it actually cost £10 and i'm not really bothered about that. It's just an extra and i shall be paying at £40 a year, not monthly.

The headset is different with R63.
but if you want to pay via credit card, the account settings thing on the live dashboard has an option to pay for a year or a month.
4.99 a month for Live
rounded up to 5 quid as 12p a year means diddly
so 5 x 12 = £60
plus your headset = £20 (not 10)
= £80
price of starter kit = £40
half the price for the same thing.
you could sell the extra headset for a tenner or something

Well i don't actually mind paying an extra £10 for a headset i don't need (because i'm getting one with R63) it's just paying an extra £30 i mind about.
I got Rainbow Six 3 with which I got me free 2 months card - like you've probably got. I scratched off the stuff and went through the procedure to start an account - you need to have a valid credit card (not switch) to complete this procedure. After all that is finished, a screen tells you that after the two months you will have 4.99 a month debited from your credit card unless you tell them not to.
Now, when I went into 'account settings' there was an option to pay for another month, or a whole year, by said credit card. It was 40 quid for the year, which when you consider you can get a headset included when you buy a starter kit, is a rip off.
So top and bottom - you could probably take your two months free, then cancel it, and buy a starter kit like I have. I don't know if you get to keep the same (free) account and gamertag, I'll find that out when I speak to them on monday.
now you know as much as I do. I'm guessing you might have to close the free account and open a new one, but I don't know yet.
Hope that helps!
At the end of your two month free trial subscription period, (euro sign)6.99 / £4.99 / SEK 69 / DKK 59 / NOK 59 or the then-current price for xbox live service will be automatically charged to your credit card unless you cancel your subscription or select an alternate plan.
Surely this means you can change it then?
> I got through no bother at 7 or so at night.
ah, well I'm going to leave it til monday now anyway.
