I showed off at a rocky crag in Dorset and I tried to walk when everyone else was crawling and I slipped, almost falling 30 feet to my death.

What other stupid or dumb things have you done?

When i was younger we had a climbing frame and i decided to jump off it. Our clothe line was close to it and i thought i could jump over the cloths line.

I jumped and had a wonderful feeling of flying

Then my foor caught the wasshing line. I was sprung back and landed on the grass straining my ankle.

When I was six years old, I conducted (pun intended) an experiment with electricity.
I ripped the metal pins out of an unused plug and, while my parents were engaged in entertaining some of their work colleagues, I inserted the naked pins into one of the wall sockets in my bedroom.
I’m not completely dumb – I made sure the socket was turned off first. Then, I switched on, tuned in and dropped out. I expected something wonderfully electric to happen. I expected to see the electric blue walk the light fandango. And was highly disappointed when my electric expectations fizzled like a wet fart. Nothing happened.
Until, that is, I made a move to pull out the pins.
Upon contact, my arm flew backwards and hit the wardrobe.
I’d been electrocuted. And that’s when panic set in. I heard someone coming up the stairs. My dad was a rather angry fellow. He had become quite annoyed with my household experiments. (The day I came home covered from head to toe with yellow emulsion made him irate; as did the day I flooded the bathroom after seeing how many toilet rolls would go disappear down the bog; as did the day I fell through the outhouse ceiling after experimenting with a saw.) And I knew I couldn’t be caught in my bedroom watching over a failed, and rather painful, experiment in electricity.
The willpower that allowed me to switch the socket off and remove the pins…

I once dropped my PC on my foot. And on the same day, I got a mild shock when touching a chip to remove it (RAM). It was off though, honest!
