With hindsight, Suzuki should've channelled his skills (and the Shenmue engine) into creating one big adventure to be released in one go. An episodal game is a silly concept.
Shenmue 2 was about as enjoyable as eating your own faeces.
I couldn't give a stuff about Shenmue 3 now, there's been very little word about it and it's taking far too long to appear. I enjoyed Shenmue 1+2, and would have played through Shenmue 3 to complete the story, but I've got too much other more important stuff to be getting on with now.
So Yu Suzuki's far-reaching vision has been buried under a deluge of pap and mediocrity. I don't think it's going to resurface.

The movie idea was scrapped[thank god]. As of now all work on shenmue 3 has been stopped.
