They had this thing on Top Gear recently about cars from the late 80s and early 90s that are soon to become classics. Why not have a selection of games from -well, let's say since 1995- that will become 'retro classics 'in the near future.

To name a few:
Ridge Racer
Quake II
Need For Speed Hot Pursuit
Age of Empires
Unreal
Railroad Tycoon II
Hidden and Dangerous

Anyone got any other ideas? (I can't be bothered to add any more titles right now)

*lol* i thought that was a swimming pool!!
there's a pretty cool game shop just away from the high street though, tucked away on one of the back streets there :)

there was a game called "hillsea lido" for the amiga, based on an ACTUAL swimming pool about 5 minutes from my house (Hilsea lido). the company that made it was a 2-person team from just down the road :)

The ocarina of time is one of the greatest games of all time.
That game deserves all the credit it can get.

BTW, by 'it', I was referring to Tomb Raider. Just realised that I might be confusing things a bit here. :)

It's usually acknowleged as the first proper fully 3D game. I think Quake isn't usually called full 3D because of the way baddies come at you- all from one direction, not from different sides, or something like that.

Apparently, although I've never looked at the technicalities of it.

I believe it was released at pretty much exactly the same time as Mario 64, too.

Wasn't Quake fully 3D?

FULLY 3D. As in the whole game was in 3D and on general release. Flight simulators weren't fully 3D because the backgrounds weren't rendered in the same way.

I'm pretty sure neither were the first full 3D games.

What about all the old flight sims, or things like Frontier Elite 2 and stuff?
