i bought my Ps2 in march along with smugglers run and ISS & when we first got it i was so excited i didnt really care that at first it wouldnt work with a cable it came with as i just popped my old PS1 scart lead in the back and it worked fine.

but now im beginning to wonder
will the PS1 cable in the back affect the PS2 picture (it seems fine to me)
and did this happen to anyone else

Connecting the ps2 to a Monitor does give a clear picture because it is capable of much higher resolution than a tv and what came with the pc wasn't actualy scart it was an adapter so that if you dont have composite in (the three hole thing) you can plug it into the scart socket although it is still only a composite signal and does not provide as good a picture as scart but gives a clearer picture than rf. If you want to use scart i suggest that you use an RGB cable if you play games a lot but dont use DVD's as DVD's through an RGB will only allow green colour to pass creating the green screen playback problem so to get around this if you get the ultimate scart cable £12.99 from special reserve you can play games using RGB for the best picture quality and by using a switch located on the cable you can switch to composite and watch DVD's without green screen or even better buy getting datel's region X not only does it allow you to watch DVD's from any region but you can watch them with RGB cable in high resolution without green screen. Or if you have an s-video in you can use this that gives good quality for both games and DVD's. There you go thats everything about the cable issue.

yeah i've been using that three hole thingy too....even though i got given scart too....but at the moment it is perched up in my room hooked up to my monitor via a vga adapter (makes the graphics look even cleaner :) )

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
