Now before you begin to read, don't take anything here serious it all done for fun. You may need a good imagination to get through it all.
Ok here goes. Imagine that the main characters of some games were actually real people who lead normal lives and stared in the odd game now and then.
Take Mario and Luigi, two dodgy plumbers who spend most of the day working, well kind of working and driving around in their 3-wheeler going from job to job. You would expect them being Italian to dress with style and own a pizza place or a restaurant but not these two. Typical workmen these two, wolf-whistling at the fit birds, cheeks hanging out their jeans, that is until Nintendo call them in for their extra work making a few games allowing them to raise the extra money to take their wives and kids back to the native land of Italy to relax and fix the plumbing.
So why are they plumbers is what I would like to know? Maybe Mario was bullied as a child and didn't get much of an education (with a name like Mario Mario I wouldn't be surprised) so maybe he learned to be a plumber and his brother joined as he didn't know where he was going in life. Please note that the mushrooms taken in the game are not "magic mushrooms" and both have denied addiction to narcotics. Not only one of the biggest names in the gaming industry they have also tried their luck with a movie which was surprisingly ok to watch unlike most other game to movie conversions. Both are happily married and have two kids each who they plan to raise and get them involved in the gaming industry and also to be part-time plumbers.
Right that's enough about the Italian Stallions, who's next?
How about Miss Lara Croft.
What does her life outside of the limelight consist of? Well she explores and lives in a country house (she lives in a house a very big house in the country, she doesn't drink, smoke, laugh take herbal baths in the country... sorry got carried away) obviously daddy is a wealthy chap. She was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, went to boarding school and then became an explorer. On her acres of land she has lots to keep her occupied, a large maze, assault course, swimming pools, quad bikes and lots of other luxuries. I would imagine she just sits at home with her butlers and her maids running around after her, occasionally some photographers get past security to try and get a sneaky picture of her in the shower but sadly for the millions of young children eagerly waiting they never seem to be able to get one. Most days she works out a little then with her friend Jordan the model they go into town and try get a little more up top for her next game. Lara also has to find out when to jet off round the world in search of some important item in order for her to make another game. Some reports say she is dead but that was a cover up from her last game to try and take all the attention away from her until her next big game. Recently she was in an action packed movie that failed to live up to the hype. Guess she will be staying indoors more now.
Sonic
Sonic is quite a quiet hedgehog when he isn't racing round collecting rings and trying to defeat the evil Robotnik (will he ever win?) he sits about in the forest with his animal friends. Sometimes ending up sleeping in stacks of wood before they are burned (check before you light your bonfire!) He is sometimes seen around built up areas crossing busy roads and visiting his relatives. He is yet to marry but has said that he plans to get hitched some day when he finds the right lady friend. Like others with similar jobs sonic is often called in for photo-shoots and signing autographs and also models some sportswear, sonic trainers could soon be on a shelf in a shop near you.
Sonic has many friends in the forest and they all look up to him, with his exceptional speed and jazzy trainers sonic to them is their hero. He is also unique as he is the first and only blue hedgehog at the moment. Had quite a battle with the Mario brothers to try and be the best game a few years ago. He boosted the mega-drive which used him as the main mascot.

When he's not saving the world single handily what does he get up too? Well not a lot as he does spend a lot of time saving us all from large nuclear weapons. He is sometimes spotted doing a fair bit of exercise keeping himself in shape for his next mission. Occasionally he is spotted with a lady named Meryl (if you didn't save her in the game then maybe its her sister) Together they sneak around large factories looking for weapons and guards to sneak up on. Snake isn't much of a family man as his only brother is pure evil and he is unsure if he has a mother and father. He is currently putting the finishing touches on his next big game, which is due at the end of the year. He is set to make a lot of money and may take time of from saving the world to have a well-deserved holiday.
Donkey Kong
Some games he was a good guy some he was bad, there is no telling with this big guy. He doesn't appear that often anymore. Donkey Kong spends a lot of time at the Zoo where he sits in a large cage for people to look at. Sometimes he tries to snatch ladies who look like princesses from the crowd but there is always a small fat plumber man there to save them. (Quite strange) Once king of the jungle he spends most days eating bananas and his gaming experiences have taught him that throwing barrels isn't always the best idea, he may make a comeback in the near future if the zoo will release him. There is also talk or releasing him back to the wild
Zelda
What can be said about this small sword-swishing hero. He seems to do most things in his game, what could he possibly do in his spare time? He spends a lot of time at home with the wife and kids, Saturday afternoons are spent watching his local football team. Zelda also helps out with running his wives grocery store. They live in a small cottage on the outskirts of the forest and he regularly takes walks through the forest with his children. When he is needed he is always not to far away and enjoys working on game after game. He is currently working on a game and also helping to promote Nintendo's latest console.
Duke Nukem
There is no change with this guy, what you see in the game is what his real life is like. Spends a lot of time with his numerous lady friends (Miss Croft being one of them). He is an alcoholic, a womaniser, and a role model to many teenage boys. Sometimes he is called to save the universe from aliens and save numerous go-go dancers and strippers along the way. Ohh how I envy this guy. Behind all this image Duke (who's real name is Cuthbert) is actually quite a nice bloke, when he isn't away making games and saving the universe he lives at home with his parents. Sometimes he sneaks out for a wild night with the ladies and a lot of drink but he makes sure he is never late home and always able to get up on time for breakfast.
Duke has a part-time job in the local fast food place, he takes orders and cleans tables to earn some extra cash to pay for his wild party nights.
Crash Bandicoot
He hasn't been around for a while, but he's on his way back with yet another 3-D platformer. He has spend a long time away from games trying to overcome an addiction to drugs (and you though his behaviour in his last game was normal?) with the help of his sister Coco he has managed to kick his addiction and is ready to promote his new game for the PS2. Like Sonic Crash also lives in the forest (they are quite friendly) and rumours are that sonic is dating his sister Coco.

There is no change with this guy, what you see in the game is what his real life is like. Spends a lot of time with his numerous lady friends (Miss Croft being one of them). He is an alcoholic, a womaniser, and a role model to many teenage boys. Sometimes he is called to save the universe from aliens and save numerous go-go dancers and strippers along the way. Ohh how I envy this guy. Behind all this image Duke (who's real name is Cuthbert) is actually quite a nice bloke, when he isn't away making games and saving the universe he lives at home with his parents. Sometimes he sneaks out for a wild night with the ladies and a lot of drink but he makes sure he is never late home and always able to get up on time for breakfast.
Duke has a part-time job in the local fast food place, he takes orders and cleans tables to earn some extra cash to pay for his wild party nights.
Crash Bandicoot
He hasn't been around for a while, but he's on his way back with yet another 3-D platformer. He has spend a long time away from games trying to overcome an addiction to drugs (and you though his behaviour in his last game was normal?) with the help of his sister Coco he has managed to kick his addiction and is ready to promote his new game for the PS2. Like Sonic Crash also lives in the forest (they are quite friendly) and rumours are that sonic is dating his sister Coco.
