It's much improved on the first in almost every way. Everything looks much nicer of course, but there are also the new environmental hazards like the namesake Avalanches, Buildings collapsing, animals, other skiers etc... On top of this, there are more features and maps, although I don't think there are as many characters as before (used to be 6 I think, now there are 5).
But the gameplay has been vastly improved. Although it feels similar to the original with a damage bar etc, it feels much faster than most other snowboarding games (and its very noticable :P) and also has a lot tighter controls. Along with LAN play, this seems like a great game, although I think I need a bit more time to get used to it before I start to compare it to SSX3 and to the original in terms of overall quality.
Still, you should get it, definately (also, it comes with 250 stars, meant that I now have 4,500 stars exactly for the Zelda disc)
What do you people think?
Total games: If you're big on multiplayer games and feel as if there's something pink and wiggly missing from your life, we suggest you follow the example of the early bird and catch the worm today! 83%
Gaming world: Worms 3D is pure multiplayer goodness. 83%
PC gamer: While it's an obvious pun, there's never been a better time to have Worms. 90%
Gamespot: It's not really a title that we'd recommend to any single player, but if you've got a ready source of mates and perhaps a few beers that need drinking, Worms 3D comes highly recommended. 85%
BBC: really great fun playing the role of a worm as you battle it out against your enemies and it's quite addictive as you try to blow up things using your wide range of weapons. 4/5
Computerandvideogames: Not deep or clever, but immensely entertaining 8/10
The Guardian: The move to 3D brings a greater need for precision when manoeuvring, but adds feel to the weaponry. With a selection of gloriously tongue-in-cheek missions that constantly surprise you, plus a set of tough but varied challenges, a vast amount of gameplay is contained in each disk. It will leave you cackling manically. (no grade)
NGC: all you need for stupid amounts of fun are three homicidal pads. 90%
allaboutgames.com: Worms has made a completely successful transition to 3D, retaining its qualities of being highly enjoyable, and easy to play. 9/10
Eurogamer: Worms 3D remains one of the most satisfying, addictive and downright enjoyable multiplayer gaming experiences I've ever encountered, online or no, and for that it scores highly. 8/10
Okay I'm bored now.
And they = god.
GamesTM - 4/10; "Ok-ish game spoilt by sloppy 3D makeover"
The Times - 1 Star; "3D setup and controls ruin potentially fun game"
NOM - 68%; "Not bad, but too complicated" & "Garbage. Waste of time."
It just seems it's not worth the cash, what with all these other great games arriving on the scene.

Well I didn't really have any problems with it... initially it was a bit perplexing but I soon got the gist of what I had to do and it was fine.
> Worms 3D is great fun, sure it is difficult to control, but it rocks.
Difficult to control? What game you playing?
