Over the past few weeks I’ve noticed a few of threads about benchmarking, I was thinking how about - instead of making hundreds of different threads, how about making one single thread for that everyone can add to?

Or even how about a nice “AMD3D Member Benchmark Database"? Obviously all of the software does already come with a comparing system - but it'd be nice to compare scores with people from the community.

Obviously it'll be using synthetic benchmarking software, unless anyone has something different like what magazines use? I think the main 3 would be adequate: -

3Dmark2001SE
Aquamark3
PCmark2004

(And any other's which I cannot think of right now)

I'll start, using this spec: -

AMD Athlon 2400+ XP – 2015mhz
256mb Crucial PC2700 RAM
Connect3D Radeon 9600 PRO (Not overclocked – With 3.10 beta drivers)
MSI KT6 Delta motherboard
Coolermaster Aero 7 Lite

..Can you not just google for a model number on the card itself and find out for sure..?

My last score was 15653:

XP1700@1959mhz
512mb DDR
Connect3d Radeon 9800pro
Epox 8RDA+ mobo
Thermalright SLK-900A

I can push this a fair bit further with the new heatsink now, but not tried benchmarking it at any higher fsbs yet..could do that soon..

Solved the problem!

I updated my drivers today, and now I got:

15809

And my PC STILL says I have a 9800 Pro, which I'm starting to believe...

Well thought I'd make sure everything is working as it should:
2.4ghz P4
512mb 400mhz RAM
R9800 non pro
SB Audigy 2

3dMark2001SE: 1024x768 32bit, vsync off and Triple buffer on

14012 3d Marks overall

Maybe V sync locks it to 60 fps. Well I think V sync locks it to the refresh rate as then that would be perfectly smooth, but I might be wrong.

No. Games I think it would as if you select vsync it runs with the monitor refresh rate(I think). But not with 3dmark2001 as on some tests on mine its doing over 300fps if the refresh rate had any influence it would only get to 85fps(my fresh rate).

Would the monitor refrash rate make any difference?

I would have thought so. I'm using a 15" LCD with only 60Hz refresh rate, would that intefere?

Well if its a Pro is should be higher. My friend had a XP2000, 512mb DDR333(I think) and a Ti4600 and could get around 10,000 or so. So with the Spec of a 2.8 P4, 512mb DDR400 and a 9800 Pro this should be coming up to 15,000 I would have thought. But for a non Pro it may be ok at around 10,500.
