That's right, a historic day, for you see, I'll become a regular! And unlike most regulars I want to break the 300-word barrier at 300 posts so I've decided to write those last couple hundred of words on my experience on UKchatforums so far!
Like just about every other person who's ever joined this communial gathering, I joined to stand a chance of winning lots of games. The idea of simply writing the best post of the day sounded too easy to be true, and so I began posting about anything that came into my head.
However, after a few weeks, and without a single GAD to my name, I realised something was wrong - where were all my free games which I thought would be so easy to win? The answer was clear - sitting on some other member's shelf. It was at this point that I realised winning a GAD would take an awful lot more effort. Apart from the fact that these forums contain a lot of members, a lot of them are imaginative, informative, and witty writers.
However, these guys don't write the posts for the free games, they write them to keep communial spirits high. And for this reason, I respect these certain members, known as (quite rightly) notables. Without them, these forums would become a place of verbal war. The ranking system is perfectly balanced; JAT's first posts are usually based around "Why console X is better than console Y", the newbies then retaliate, forgetting the original post was someone's personal opinion, and manage to develope the post into a full-out war. Then the Regulars get stuck in, thinking their opinion outweights a newbies, and things get very ugly indeed. However, just as things look as though they couldn't get any worse, a casually-browsing Notable spots the feud and puts an end to it with a few soothing words of wisdom.
Well, this is the way I view the forums and have adapted what I say in order to fit in. And how have I learnt this? Well, from experience ofcourse. And this is further proof of an excellent ranking system; the Notables have been here the longest and trully are the Masters of the boards.
Anyway, thought a few of you might want to read it. The reason I am posting this on the Nintendo board is because this is where I post most regularly and have made a home for myself. Ooops! Looks like I've smashed that 20,000 word barrier. Oh well, I enjoyed writing this and that's all that matters really. :)
