My dear friend- Frogman, went to America for 3 weeks and dug up some quite interesting news about the Gamecube and Xbox for those who didn't already know. Apparently (from some guys at an 'American' computer games store) he knows that the Gamecube is almost definitely set to be $150 to $170 and that Microsofts Xbox will be $299 or less. But he also told Frogman that the Xbox would be a bit more expensive with an add on of a modem for thei internet. Have you heard this yet guys? Does it mean cheap over heare for the GC? Does it help either of the companies?

Please discuss!

But the fact that we pay more than we should anyway is enough to p!ss anyone off, right?

It's just not fair! *Shocky stamps his feet on the floor in a mock tantrum*

As I understand it (but Im probaly wrong :) ), the price given there - $199 - is before they add the tax - purchase tax is added at the checkout not on the shelf (Very annoying if you go down the road for a box of donuts with exact change! Grrrr). I dont know is that price is with or without the tax, but its possible that it wil be more expensive than that over there, and therefore fairer on us.

Do you mean: will the Gamecube be cheap here as well? If that is the question you were asking, then I will tell you the answer...

NO! I'm afraid that it is actually $199 in America which SHOULD work out to be somthing like £135 here...exciting news, but is instantly squashed. The Gamecube will actually be about £199 here - bloody ridiculous. But that's our government for you T_W, they add on that £60 odd quid for VAT...gits. Otherwise, then yes, we would have the Gamecube at a much cheaper price.

*sigh* - Just get it from Australia.

Shocktrooper - annoyed at our government.
