was it not the same beta that got stolen and PROLONGED THE RELEASE OF HALF LIFE 2?
Damn hackers, it makes it harder for them to impress now. Maybe the classic may never become as great as it should have been now the surprise has been ruined. But to be on the safe side, i won't play it.
I must admit, valve must have made a pretty good gamble to spend all their money made from half life to make half life 2. Strange that the graphics looks so good as you could only get this stuff around now. Will Half life 2 engine be a new engine to make games that could rival the ones the unreal and quake games make?

You can get a pirated Beta edition right now if you know where to get one. It's not finished, but apparently has a lot of potential...
Yeah half life is a true classic definetly, cant wait to get my mits on half life two.
half life was good but i'm sure that one day i'll change my mind and say another game is my all time faverate.
I thought it was actually really good, it is quite an old game though and your probably just used to the newer games.
I got it recently because of its classic status (and five reddies), but I didn't find it any good, so it's lying around my house ready to be offloaded to some mug.
What about Command and conquer Red alert, a great classic.
Railroad Tycoon. 256-colour fun with quirky SFX, great gameplay and a game that I played for over 10 years. Fan-tan-tan-tastic.
Followed by Grand Prix Circuit, Lemmings, Age of Empires and Civilization.
