This is addressed to everyone, just because I think it's relevant to these forums, and *might* be interesting.

The question:
When you read a thread you haven't looked at before, how many of the posts do you read?
Do you read the initial message, plus say, the most recent page?
Or do you just read the last few messages?
Or maybe the whole thread, if it's below 20 posts or so?

So what do you all do?

Myself, I'll read the initial message first, then the last 6/7 messages to see if the topic is still on track. If not, I probably won't bother replying to the original topic, but maybe one of the few most recent replies. If it is on track, I'll post my thoughts, and if the whole thread is no more than 20 or so posts, I'll probably read the lot before replying.

What about the rest of you?

As much as 2 pages, and anymore I either won't post in the thread or just reply to the initial topic.

I read the main post and usually a few posts to get the jist of what is being said. If I have something to comment, I reply. Most of the time I don't.

Just as a test, if anyone is reading this thread all the way through, add the word 'spangle' to the end of your next post in this thread.

If it's gaming or forum related then all of them.

Do you read the initial message, plus say, the most recent page?

See above.

Or do you just read the last few messages?

See above.

Or maybe the whole thread, if it's below 20 posts or so?

See above.

Well first I read the initial thread, and if it's interesting then I'll read all of the replies to it, until it reaches a point in which it is no longer interesting.

If there is something in the thread I wish to respond to I do so, whether the subject has moved on, or not. Not a problem as long as I use the 'reply quoting message' button, or it can get confusing!

I read the start post, and then depending on how manyposts have been done depends on how many I'll read, if there have been say half a dozen posts, I'll readthem all, but if there have been about 50 then I'll probably read the first page of posts, and see what people are talking about, then post
