The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
The question:
When you read a thread you haven't looked at before, how many of the posts do you read?
Do you read the initial message, plus say, the most recent page?
Or do you just read the last few messages?
Or maybe the whole thread, if it's below 20 posts or so?
So what do you all do?
Myself, I'll read the initial message first, then the last 6/7 messages to see if the topic is still on track. If not, I probably won't bother replying to the original topic, but maybe one of the few most recent replies. If it is on track, I'll post my thoughts, and if the whole thread is no more than 20 or so posts, I'll probably read the lot before replying.
What about the rest of you?
> the posts do you read?
As much as 2 pages, and anymore I either won't post in the thread or just reply to the initial topic.

Something like this.
'spangle'
If it's gaming or forum related then all of them.
Do you read the initial message, plus say, the most recent page?
See above.
Or do you just read the last few messages?
See above.
Or maybe the whole thread, if it's below 20 posts or so?
See above.

If there is something in the thread I wish to respond to I do so, whether the subject has moved on, or not. Not a problem as long as I use the 'reply quoting message' button, or it can get confusing!
