It seams that the Xbox isn't going down too well at the moment. There is very little interest in the Xbox overall in the forums.

Im interested in it and I am planning to buy one, yet there is very little news.

So I ask, why does every one hate Microsoft and the Xbox?

I aggree with you. Now, Because i'm not a heavy PC user I don't take what Bill Gates does with the PC market very seriously and to be honest I don't really care.

All I do know is the Xbox is shaping up to be one of the most exciting consoles in history with its power and excellent games. Depending on how the stuborn gamers who will be likely to stick to sony and nintendo react to it, is the key to their success.

A lot of people hate Bill Gates (Microsoft) because of a couple of reasons, firstly for what they did to Apple a couple of decades ago by 'borrowing', some would say 'stealing' Apple's operating system, calling it Windows, and conquering the Home PC and Business PC market with it.

They also hate Microsoft for having such a strong grip on the software industry, thereby stifling growth of new ideas and products.

This pent up anger seems to have found its scapegoat in the X-Box.

Then there's the fact that given the power of this machine, and having seen what it can do, most non-X-Box supports are worried about their consoles, and how they will fare in the upcoming 'console war'.

On the upside I'm none of these people. I admire Bill Gates for his personal contributions to computing (1k BASIC anyone?), and for his drive and ambition, he didn't get where he is today by not working.

And I'm an AVID supporter of the X-Box, because I've seen what it can do, and have brushed aside Sony and Nintendo in favour of it, which is exactly what Sony and Nintendo are worried other gamers will do. I'm of the opinion though that this 'console war' will be a three-way tie, the industry is so big now there is plenty of room for three big console manufacturers to manoevre around in, unlike a few years ago when Sega started struggling when Sony entered the marketplace.

So I'm happy.
