UK HARDWARE FIGURES: PS2 SALES GO BALLISTIC
Sony's mind-bogglingly successful PS2 continues to wow the Great British public, with just under a staggering 97,000 units shifted for the week ending December 6 - that's up nearly 25 percent on the previous week.
With the exception of Nokia's N-Gage, which continues to underperform, all of the consoles enjoyed stable or increased sales. Ninty's GBA sold just over 6,500 units, which is pretty much in keeping with last week's figure. The GBA SP reached just over 38,000 units however, an increase of over 20 percent.
GameCube enjoyed a similar rise, selling just short of 19,000 units, while the Xbox climbed 16 percent to shift over 25,000 units. Sadly, the N-Gage struggles on, with ChartTrack's latest figures revealing the phone-console hybrid sold less than 250 units in the 6,000 accredited specialist games retailers, down 4 percent on last week's figures.
But it should be noted that these figures don't cover sales from mobile phone specialists like Carphone Warehouse.

It'd be interesting to hear the total sales figures (including phone retailers), but even so, 250?
I figure the price will come down too, and it'll be available much cheaper on 1 year contracts, but still, 250?
The wireless multiplayer was a nice idea. Shame you'll never find 2 people with an ngage in one place :^D

Of course its right... they're replacement ones for all the out of warranty PS2s...

If you think about it, most if not all the people who post on here are gamers (would be weird to come on here if you didn't have some kind of interest in computer games) so they know what the pros and cons of each of the consoles are (ie their own views on what they like and dislike)
Majority of the general public who are not gamers don't have a knowledge like us on here so base their views on a console from the games it has, what people tell them and also on advertising/marketing etc.

Some black market supplier is shipping them all off to some run down country at exstorionate prices (perhaps France?)
And to bring it out near winter was silly, who is going to be wanting to play on Lara in the freezing cold when you can sit in your house in the warm and play it on the playstation or pc.
They should of throught more, bring it out in the summer when perants buy their kids toys to keep them quite on holiday.

Does God really want to know that?
> Yeah - I know. How did 250 of the fools end up with an nGage?
BRILLIANT :D
