***Resident Evil: Director's Cut***
Time to complete the game:
Chris: 2:30 - 3:00
Jill: 2:30 - 3:00
Replay value:
3 different ending for both Jill and Chris. Also extra costumes to be unlocked. With RE: Director's Cut there are 3 modes of play; Training, Standard and Advanced. Also if the game is completed in under 3 hours certain weapons are available at the start of the game when restarted. All extras can be unlocked in 3 attempts, minimum.
Total length of game:
Average time to complete: 2:45
X 3 for different endings and all extra items (8:15)
X 2 as there are two different characters (16:30)
= 16 hours 30 minutes of total gameplay
***Resident Evil 2***
Time to complete:
Leon: Scenario A: 1:30 – 1:50 Scenario B: 1:30 – 1:50
Claire: Scenario A: 1:40 – 2:00 Scenario B: 1:30 – 1:50
Replay Value:
Only one ending for each character. The extra costumes (2 for Leon) and extra weapon (1 for Claire) can be unlocked in one go if the player knows how to unlock them. There is a ranking system that judges a player on time taken to complete the game and the number of saves taken to complete the game. There are 3 weapons extra weapons to unlock (rocket launcher, gatling gun, sub-machine gun) taking one go of either Scenario to unlock.
This game comes with 2 CD’s, one for Leon, one for Claire. After you complete the game with one CD you save the game then put in the other CD and load the saved game from that CD (huh!?!) This creates Scenario A, Scenario B.
Also there are two characters to unlock, Hunk and Tofu. Hunk needs two successive gos to unlock (Scenario A then Scenario B) but Tofu needs a succession of 6 to complete (Scenario A, B, A, B, A, B)
Total Length of Game:
Lean Scenario A, Claire Scenario B: Average time to complete: 3:20
+ Claire Scenario A, Leon Scenario B: Average time to complete: 3:20 (6:40)
+ two more Scenarios to unlock tofu (10:00)
= 10 hours to of total gameplay + time taken to complete the Hunk/Tofu mini games (this also includes the time taken to unlock all the weapons and costumes)
***Resident Evil 3: Nemesis***
Time to complete:
Jill 1:30 – 2:00
Replay Value:
This only comes with 1 CD! (after the second one came with 2) There is only 1 playable character but 2 possible endings. After you complete the game once a boutique will be available. After this 5 costumes can be unlocked but it is possible to unlock all 5 costumes in one go if you do well enough. Also once the game has been completed then a mini-game is unlocked called The Mercenaries which allows the player to play throw a short game earning as much money as possible. Then that money can be spent on extra weapons for the game when it is restarted. There are also 8 epilogues to unlock, each of which is unlocked after the game has been completed. The epilogues are short stories of what has or is happening to characters from previous Resident Evil games. Also the game introduces a new system where the player is often presented with a choice of two options. Which option they chose not only effects what happens in the game but also the ending. There are a number of these choices though out the game. Also some items are moved about the place whenever a new game is started. This means that because a grenade launcher was in the police station locker the first time doesn’t mean it will be there the next time.
Total Length of Game:
Average time to complete: 1:40
X 8 to unlock all costumes, to see both endings, to unlock The Mercenaries mini-game and to see all 8 epilogues. (13:20)
= 13 hours 20 minutes of total gameplay + time taken to complete The Mercenaries mini games, unlocking all the extra weapons.
So that is a ROUGH guide on the length of gameplay offered by the RE games. Also the total gameplay of each game is if you do everything right on your first few attempts. Although I can safely say I’ve spend more the 16 hours on Resident Evil Director’s Cut and besides, I’ve properly missed something out!
Also something I’ve noticed is the number of "extras" that have been put in to make the game longer. For example with RE (the first one) there are 3 different endings for each character, making it 16 and a half hours long, this is just the time taken to see all 6 endings. But when you look at RE 3 if it wasn’t for the 8 epilogues they put it the game would only be about 5 hours long instead of 13 hours 20 minutes, which is quite a difference.
So not only is the question "How Long is RE:CV?" but also "What extras are there and how much of the actually 18 hours of gameplay does this take up?" Resident Evil 3 although good was quite disappointing because of the length of the game itself. Also the epilogues weren’t actually that good and could of easily have been left out but then Capcom would of have to come up with another way to make the game longer.
Anyway info about RE:CV for the PS2 will be much appreciated and if you have read this far, thanks for reading and I hope intelligent and useful information is posted.

P.S.
Also have you noticed that the “Lighter” is in every RE game so far but none of the characters actually smoke!?!
There are also some bonus features to unlock and play through which will give you a few more hours of fun.
> How long will it be?
AS i have mentioned before a report i saw on the Game Network cliamed that the game had 18 hours of gamplay. They didn't actually elaborate on this so i don't know if this means one game should take 18 hours to complete or there is loads of extra stuff you have to unlock by playing it over and over again, which ADDS UP to 18 hours of gameplay. If it does have 18 hours of gamplay it will be the longest RE game to date.
Take a look at your other games. The case and disc should be the same in Res evil as they are in your other PS2 games.
In an old trailer for code veronica complete you see Wesker run up walls and hit alexia, Chris tries attacking him with a metal pipe but Wesker just put his arm up grabs it off him and bends it. Wesker's proper cool but I suppose stars aren't very pleased that he tried to kill em off!
I've seen the uncut intro and it's extremly gory, also Kenneth's head been eaten of by the very first zombie was cut but most of them can be seen in the report, Capcom had the rights to include these in the PAL versions of the directors cut and intended to but, what they claimed is there was a mix up and by the time they realised it was too late.
Chris lighting up with that trusty lighter is once at the begining and in the ending where Chris escapes alone and nervously lights up, It's still annoys people that they were cut but it's no big deal.
The Code Veronica battle mode is just another sub game but you have 2 view options one normal and one first person which is, well it's basically a good version of survivor with no gun. i
It's good though, I haven't played code veronica in months and can't wait for CVX.

Also in RE 1 you sometimes get the chance to play as Rebecca Chambers when playing as chris, after you get poisoned by the snake.
Also in RE 2 you play as Ada Wong when playing as Leon and Sherry Birkin when playing as Claire.
I didn't include these as it doesn't really add any extra time to the actually completion of the game but point taken.
In resident Evil

Ah, i forgot about this. Have you seen the actual un-edited footage? I downloaded it from a web page and it really isn't anything that special. The only interesting bit is when Jospeh Frost calls them over (in the intro) and picks up that gun with the hand attached to it, then it cuts to the dog attack. In the un-edited version you actually see the severed hand, why they didn't include this is beyond me as the rest of the game is quite gore filled.

There is a battle mode for the PS2 version of CVX. What exactly happens in battle mode?
Yeah your right resident evil 3 is

For some reason this never works for me. I thought if you collected all the files when you check your "files" the last one will be replaced with Jill's diary.
I've heard from the states that

I heard that it comes with an extra CD with Weskers report on it and the game also includes extra actual gameplay that was left out of the DC version. Also isn't Wesker suppose to be "mutated" or something, allowing him to run up walls and bend metal bars?

In resident Evil one Chris actually smokes both in the intro and one of the endings but these had to be edited because of strict laws about smoking in games, Thats why all the other characters load guns etc at the intro when Chris's introduction is footage from the previous dog attack.
Res 1 actually has a sub game in the saturn version with Wesker as a zombie haha there's proof that capcom wanted him to die in the original.
Resident Evil director's cut is supposed to be completly uncut like the Japanese versions but I've heard a mix up caused the FMV's to remain edited, check out the wesker's report for the unedited footage. It's been re-released in America with dual shock support and advanced became arrange but it still remains edited.
