Move one digit in the following equation to make it true:
101-102=1
I kind of like FM's, too. Very clever.
All seem better than the apparently 'correct' answer.
Anyone else have a good puzzle?
Move the top bit of the equals symbol, so it looks like this.
101=102-1
Simple.
I think I've got it,and I'm putting into 2 easy steps, so here goes:
Step 1) How about you move the 0 in the first number to the end figure, this should make: 11-102=10
Step 2) You place an addition sign and the number 101 on the end of the sum and before the equals sign, this should make: 11-102+101=10
It is right! You didn't say we couldn't add anything onto it!!?!

No fair! You didn't say we could add or remove anything from the equation, only move something!
101 - 102 = 1
becomes
101 - 10 = 21
Which in base 10 becomes
10 - 3 = 7
