Erm ... righto ... er ...

You are outside a room which you cannot see into unless you open the door, which is currently closed. There are three light switches outside the room and you need to find out which one operates the light inside the room. You can operate any of the switches as many times as you like (they're all currently 'OFF') but you can only open the door once and when you've opened it you cannot operate any of the switches.

There is no trick answer, just the correct one.

Flick the first two switches to ON for 5 minutes, then turn the second switch to off and open the door.

If the light is ON, then the first switch operates the lightbulb.

If the lightbulb is OFF but warm to the touch, then the second switch operates the lightbulb.

If the lightbulb is OFF but cold to the touch, then the third switch operates the lightbulb.
