I am quite un impressed at the fact that both games are racing games and not all that many people have excitebike cant we do a real N64 game like goldeneye. Fastest time around the facility is a much better challenge or just complete the caverns on double 00 agent (Joke).

Right I insist my local sr has a goldeneye competition even though I am unlikely to win.

Alternatively couldn't it be a more mainstream racing game like F-Zero x.

Alternatively and more appropriately the competion is renamed racer of the year. (leading to other competions)

Meka's idea about the best score on Rambi Arena on DK64 was the best.

It's a reasonably established game, it promotes a Gamecube game (DK racing), it's great fun and even people who've never played the game before can have a good go.

You don't need to master any techniques, get to grip with controls or learn any tracks.
Doubtless, you'll have to be a true master to get a high score but even complete beginners can get a good go of it.

Don't do the swordfish one though as that would be unfair on beginners.

How about battle on Perfect Dark or Super Smash Bros? I rule at them! Or paintballing...
