Okay, you're going to think I'm weird or something here, but I just have to post this and ask if anyone else has experienced something similar.

We've all had dreams that continue, I'm sure. Whether it's in the same night after waking up to go to the loo, or a few nights later - it nothing particularly unusual as far as I know.

But last night, I had a dream continue after FIVE YEARS!

Consciously, I'd completely forgotten about the original dream. I only know *when* I had the original dream because it was just after a fairly traumatic event in my life - it was October 1996.

I had this dream where I was out cycling in an area of Northampton that I hadn't visited before - it wasn't a 'real' location in Northampton... it only existed in the dream. There was a row of houses to my left, and I was on a small gravel path which turned off to the right, and up a large hill, at the top of which was a factory.

As I started to cycle up the hill, I heard a yell from one of the houses, and went to investigate. A guy had been working in his garden and had an accident, damaging his back. his wife was out shopping, and I called an ambulance on my mobile.

That was the extent of the first dream.

A few nights later, I had a 'follow-on' dream; it was a few days later in 'dream time' as well, and I'd gone back to see how the guy was doing. We chatted for some time, and then I woke up.

That was the last thing that happened, and the last time I had any dream in that setting.

Until last night.

Last night, I dreamed that I was in that area again, but without my bike. I decided to see if the guy still lived there, and he did. The thing was, the dream world had actually move on 5 years, too. The guy was okay, but his back still hurt; he'd aged 5 years, finished the work he was doing when he had the accident, and he remembered me and thanked me again for helping him. We chatted for some time - though I can't recall what it was about - and then I left.

At that point I woke up, and once I realised, I was quite stunned - and I still can't quite get my head around it. Five years and a 'forgotten' dream suddenly coming back to the surface. In my view, it proves that you never truly forget anything - it's always there, just waiting for the right cue to bring it back out. I have no idea what brought this back out, but it's certainly made a lasting impression on me.

Has anyone else ever had a similarly large gap between related dreams? Does anyone here know anything about dream analysis and what this could all be about?

Grateful for any info/input!

A dream I had when I was 3 years old continued 2 night ago while I was in Australia.

That's a gap of 9 years. It took another dream continued on from the one in Cairns on the plane that made me remember the continuation.

Weird really, but that's just me all over.

Hummmmm...

I was locked in my old house's toilet by a Gorilla, once.

I also got eaten by a Tiger.

And I started off a war at my school, where I promptly had knoves thrown through my feet.

Hummmmm...

A friend of mine has the same sort of experience with his dreams, He can continue the same dream over a period of time and can relate back to each one.

So you are not on your own, as long as they are not bad or sinister dont worry, should he speak to me again regarding this subject I will send any info that he may have.

Kind regards

Neil

A few years ago, I remember sitting up (in my sleep), looking at the alarm clock at the end of my bed, and seeing my sleeping body still flat on the bed. I had a tingling sensation and started to float off! I woke up pretty soon after that, as it was all a bit weird. The time on the clock was the same! I could have dreamt the first part, but how did my brain get the right time? It's never happened to me since.

About 7 years ago i kept having this dream where a ghost kept scaring me. Every night i would have a dream in a different scenario. i would be just walking along and this ghost would come of out nowhere and scare the living crap out of me and i would wake up scared like hell. It was the same ghost every single time.

This went on for a while, then in one dream the situation was reversed. I actually crept up on the ghost and screamed me head off. I scared it off and i never had dreams about it again.

Weird huh?

I remember very few of my dreams, and that saddens me.

The ones I do remember are amazing though.

One was about a drug dealer that got a bunch of his punters to come over to his house, planning to kill them all to steal their money or something, only there was another person there too, a mysterious person dressed entirley in black, that was killing people anyway.

I thought that this would make a great horror/slasher movie.

Then there was the dream about the pink and yellow house and the dog food that exploded....

No idea at all.

I do have a reoccuring one that I can't remember.

But most of mine are either being at work naked or really bizarre stuff.
Like a couple of days ago, Mr T and Wings Hauser came over for pizza, but they ended up fighting and destroying my bonsai display(???).
I got real mad and they apologised before leaving.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
