Hey,
Just want to enquire about the Network Adapter and ask a few questions as i am thinking of linking my PS2 to the internet using my Broadband connection. I was wondering how exactly do you do it, and how it all connects together.
I have an External USB modem, would i have to plug in the cable that runs from my phone socket into my modem, into my Ps2 and link it to the phone line or will i have to link the cable back up to the modem and back into the phone line?
Do you have to pay an extra subscription fee for an ISP or can you use your ISP which supplys you with broadband?
Do you have to pay for subscriptions to games?
Should i get a headset, and does this mean i can speak to people over the internet in any game i am in?
Thanks
Quazi

You need either Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) using a crossover cable and extra Network Interface Card (bought separately), or you need to get a USB router (bought separately). I use an ethernet modem so didn't have to do either of these, for more information see the Guides on here:

If you've still got questions after reading that, then you haven't read it.

Use your existing ISP, no extra charges.

Only EverQuest Online Adventures which is £5.49-£7.50 a month depending on how you pay, all the other online games are free.

Headset comes with SOCOM, the same headset can be used with any headset compatible game like SOCOM 2 or Destruction Derby Arenas, it can also be used over MSN. Any USB headset will do the job though. A USB keyboard is also highly recommended, again, any USB keyboard should do the job, the cheaper the better.

You can use your existing ISP but a USB modem is not directly compatible. The PS2 only takes an ethernet cable. The best solution is to put a network card in your PC, link that to the PS2 and share the connection.
