"Mario Kart not working?"

Those of you that are thinking of importing Mario Kart Advance should be warned - it will not work in multiplayer mode with UK or US versions.

i know , thats what im saying , in the jap version they must have an extra option for mobile play , which us brits and americans wont probably get for ages.

hmmm yes, but you can only use that function in japan where the network is situated, so it's no real consilation!

i think theyve got some completely different options in their mario kart advance , coz when i opened the japanese box , down my local games arena , i found a slip for the mobile link up thing , so you can play mario kart in japan over the mobile network thing !

I think that viperfire1956 was refering to the JAP version of mario kart acvance, as the reason the multi will not work with US and UK is mainly because that japan have a totally different language to us, while the americans just substitute cetain words for their own, also don't forget that the Japs get everything first, so by the time the games on their shelves they have got the most primative version, because then the game has to be translated to american and UK and because the Jap release date is so far apart from the USA and UK release dates, it is impractical to delay the game for the sake of being able to link up with carts from another country, so because the release dates of the USA and the UK are so close and due to the language being so similar, it is possible to include multi between USA and UK carts because the programmers have the time to do it, plus i think the Japs have slightly different technology to over here and the USA so their is that factor to consider as well, anyway i think that is the reason, and i hope that helps you to understand a bit more?

But surely it should work, as all GBA are exactly the same?

I saw one today in my local CEX. I was going to buy it but - hey! Thanks for the advice!
