FF7 on PC was almost every bit as good on PC as it was on PS1. However, there were some cut scenes (not the fully FMV ones) where the background ended up slightly out of place with the characters. But nothing that will spoil your enjoyment of the game.

FF8 was enjoyable on PS1, but not so good that I went through it again on PC...

I have a real burning desire to play Final Fantasy 7 or 8 again.

Anyone got this on PC? Any good?

Did you know that the artwork and character design for Chronotrigger was done by the same guy that designed, drew and wrote the entire DragonBall series?

Despite looking a little childish and cra*py, Earthbound is quite a good game.

Chronotrigger - so much better than the sequel, Chronocross

If you get a SNES emulator, you must download Mother 2 / Earthbound (same game, Mother 2 is the jap name I think)...

Oh, and Chrono Trigger.

Both absolutely class RPGs.

I have to say that despite PCG's praise of the game I've never really payed much attension to it, only going as far as playing the demo which was a long time ago. I'll see how the sequel fares up.

If you get off on the Baldur's Gate games, the Icewind Dale series (Icewind Dale, exp: Heart of Winter, Icewind Dale II) are also worth looking at. Made by the same people, but your party is less dependent on meeting other characters to add to it, and so you can customise your entire party to your liking (you can do this in Baldur's Gate multiplayer games too but...)

I would also recommend you get a SNES/PS1 emulator, and get hold of pretty much anything made by Square.
