In the mean time, I've been pretty-damn excited about MGS2, after the amount of detail I found in it yesterday. (did you know that you can throw people off the balcony? And have you seen what a soldier does when you shoot him in the kneecap with a USP?) Anyway, gather 'round children, I'm about to tell you the story of...
THE METAL GEAR FOLLOWER
-----------------------
A Story by Saesee :¬)
Jex was getting drenched. She zipped up her raincoat and carelessly watched the waves knock against the small boat she was in. 'This is no time to be in a boat' she contemplated as the puddles on deck got deeper. 'It's raining, I have a cold, I am under the Washington bridge for crying out loud... but I have to keep focused.' just that thought reminded her of her goal.
'It's not every day you get a whack at Metal Gear.' She squinted through her binoculars at the river around her, looking for her moment to strike and take control of the ship carrying the new Metal Gear, the one that supposedly wiped the floor with the previous models. Or so she heard.
She opened a black, padded case and gazed at the Sub-machine gun, SOCOM pistol and meelee knife. She holstered them, took the ammo and promptly threw the case overboard.
'I'm well equiped, I have my orders, and I am gonna get Metal Gear.' The last part sounded good, so she repeated it in her mind. 'Metal Gear is mine.'

Finally, it was here. She peered one again through her binoculars at the mighty ship, distorted by raindrops and riddled with marines in orange jackets. She blew a sigh of relief when it occured to her that they wern't carrying any weapons. Piece of cake.
The ship was closer than she thought. In fact, her pittiful dinghy was in it's path!
'Dosen't matter, I'll be on it before it crushes me.'
She loaded the grappling hook into the clip on top of the SMG, and squinted a final time through her binoculars before carelessly tossing them overboard.
As the ship crawled closer, she aimed the hook launcher at the rigging and took time to steady her aim.
'Almost...'
There was more rain than she expected, or was that the sweat trickling down her neck? It didn't matter. She fired the hook, and jumped into the freezing water.

50 seconds later, her head emerged from the blackness. She drew in a long, deep breath and shaked her head, attempting to rid her eyes of the stinging saltwater. There was no time. She hastily climbed the wet rope, and took hold of the deck as the ship just as the ship passed under the Washington bridge. She made it, and took no interest in her fishing boat that crumpled as if it were made of matchsticks.
Peering aound cautiosly, she hid behind a small crate. Not that she knew what was in it, it could be a shipment of PS2s for all knew... but she had other work to attend to.
She unzipped a pocket in her envirosuit and felt around for a small, rectangular device. Aha...
"Harvest base, this is Jex. I'm on the boat." She deactivated the communication device, and tossed that overboard also. It seemed like a waste, but that was exactly what she was told to do. Better safe than sorry.
Suddenly there was a thump on the deck, followed by a blinding flash of light. She turned, and unfortunately placed her hand on the handrail. She winced in pain as volts gently fried her arm, and she fell to the floor shaking.
When she opened her eyes, a marine was pointing a gun at her head. How could this have possibly gone wrong? What happened to her? The marine started to speak.
"Unholster your gun and throw it across the floor." She gazed warily at her hand, it was bleeding badly.
"Do it now!"
She reached her gun and slowly slid it out of it's holster. Immediately she aimed it at her own head.
"I said throw it over here!" The marine looked bewieldered.
She smiled, and said softly; "Mission Abborted" before pulling the trigger.

Well, that's it. Hope you liked it! And for those of you who missed my last story, I'll dig it up tonight and post it again for you.
