It's not that I've grown out of gaming or anything, I don't think that's possible. Nope it just didn't feel fresh or new... and there was no big Ninty game to grab my attention. So I kitted it out.
I broke 2 official controllers within a month of buying the console on May 3rd 2001 and my Wavebird's L button broke just before Christmas. So I decended upon the town of Bedford and bought some nice new gubbins for me ol' Cube. My precious now has a new Wavebird complete with working L button, a new official controller (coming in at a mere £9.99) and my two most gleeful items... a Hori SNES controller for the Gamecube and a GB Player.
The GB Player has been set up and looks pretty nifty and my new controllers look all cool. So I've been playing games relentlessly. Wahoo it worked.
Just thought I'd let you know of my little technique to get back into gaming, no need to waste 100's on the frankly gorgeous Panasonic Q. the Hori pad though is something very special. Playing Soul Calibur 2 with this controller is beautiful it is almost as good as using Hori's own SC2 arcade board. Using it to play Mario Kart: Double Dash is frighteningly remeniscent of the original MK... and using it to play mt GBA games via my GB player is like re-creating my SNES on the Gamecube.
Everyone by a hori pad, they rule:

Personally I think SR should stock them, it's a fantastic idea.
Dringo.

St Neots i live, Bedfords town centre isn't as bad compared to mine... but at least mine has 2 independant game stores.

Indeed highly cool.

Yeah, I'm in a similar position. I've not played much fifa 2004 since buying it, I had defender for almost 2 weeks before I first played it, and despite it being fairly good, IMO, I've not played it since.
And there are loads of other games too.....
The most messed up thing is that I'm out of work with a messed up leg, and have nothing else to do all day anyway. I ought to be gaming by default!
Maybe I should get myself a girl too...
Didn't you move somewhere else dodgy like Liverpool??
:)
Jeebus, tis where I lived about 10 months ago.
Thankgod I finally got out of that depressing hellhole. Is the town center still as depressing as ever?

What u studying at uni?
:)
I dont even know if i will buy Nintendos next console, console gaming doesnt have the same hold over me anymore.
So I look at my game collection... which is a bit of an obessesive way to spend my student loan, and think today I could play a game.
But stick a DVD in instead.
I could of course invite Hollie round to have another game of Monkey Ball 2, she was lucky to beat me in that round of Bowling. Grrrrrrrrrr.
