Now cheating I know exists on RS3:

1. Getting out of the confines of the level:

This can be done on the peaks level but I'm not telling you how. Suffice to say that if you're getting shot at and you've checked everywhere, then look beyond the fences you shouldn't be able to go past.

2. People telling their team mates via MSN where the other team are.

If someone asks you where your teammates are, simply don't tell them or don't tell them if their team keep on miraculaously taking people out.

3. Laggy server host with obsecene amount of kills.

I'm pretty sure the host doesn't get any/ or at least not as bad lag when lag occurs - this means they will get shots off faster and generally be able to out-perform those who are experiencing lag.

If you find yourself on one of these servers it'll sometimes be a crap experience (ie you pull the trigger and nothing happens at the same time the host pulls the trigger and kills you).

This last one is not exactly cheating, but you should be made aware of it.

Yeah sometimes if you do something daring, and it fails or you get battered accomplishing it then it's time to find a spot and make the most of your one bar of health. :D

What's great about RS3 is that everyplace is accessible either by grenade of gun so no spot is truely safe. Repeat a tactic too many times and expect to have a few hundred grenades thrown at your favourite hiding place! :D

What also doesn't translate well when people observe a players play is when they are listening. Sometimes I'll waiting for a good 30 seconds to a minute because I can hear someone slowly creeping down some metal steps. So I know where they are, I'm getting prepared to shoot them and some silly sod kicks me for camping! :D

There's also a lot of fun to be had setting traps for people, the amount of people who will wait behind a door/in a corner for 30 seconds to catch someone out is very high on RS3, because that's the nature of the game.

Though you did camp under the stairs in old city, which was really irritating. But now that I know that, a nicely bounced grenade ought to do the trick.

I agree. The last time I played with you on RS3, on Presido I think, you were getting ripped to shreds for apparently camping. But after I died I watched you. Camping is staying in the same place all the time, not moving slowly and waiting to see if someone is in a corridor or behind a door.

Rainbow Six does encourage camping with all the places to hide, use of lighting and some levels being deadly after you've moved about 10 feet (Old City anyone?).

If you find a set of people who play using a small degree of strategic camping then it's good. A whole load of people who just sit there without moving from spot to spot or occasionally going Rambo is not as much fun.

It's all about balance.

Teams who constantly charge in at one another get boring quickly too.

But so tempting in Sharpshooter...

Also sometimes it's fun to 'out camp' those you know're camping. Sometimes that just leads to a draw though. ;D

The first one is a glitch (which might've been fixed in the sizeable download which fixed 50. cals). It's the same thing that can happen in MM3. Once you know how it's done you can wait for people to try and get out of the level and shoot them while they're trying! :D

Clever in a way though. Sort of like spying. All we need is dogs like in Red Alert...

Number 2 is probably the worst on survival mode. There's always someone who goes around miraculously taking everyone out.
