Wont recgonize any games or films atall, just says no disk.
It's off to my mates tonight to try and be rapaired, but he said i was either looking at £70 for a new cd-rom, or i may have to buy a new one.
When i spent like £150 on the xbox i expected it to last alot longer then 14 months.
Any of you had any problems with the xbox?
(This is the first problem i have ever had with it)

I'm curious. If you only play legal games on your machines, why get the xbox chipped to start with and void the warranty? I don't know about the "flip lid" ps2 and so cannot comment.
Is there any other reason for chipping an xbox apart from bypassing copy protection?

Erm we're all having a go at Robin for having pirare games, no one mentioned chipped stuff except to say it is illegal technically. The flip lid PS2 thing is pretty smart because it's not clearly illegal at all, except that it could be argued it bypasses copy protection which is not allowed by the terms and conditions of use.

Inventing new forms of prejudice there, Valentino? :)

Invite them round to my place, I have a chipped Xbox and flip-lid PS2, and NOT one copied game. Not everyone with chipped machines buys pirated games so don't class us all the same, your being "chippest" !

You can if you get a chip with a power switch, you turn the chip off when you go online.
Still illegal though.
And no I don't have one.

Any way im not bragging in any way atall, some one mentioned the coppied games because i had my Xbox chipped and thats how it all started.

I wouldn't either, in fact I wouldn't be bragging about it on an internet forum. You would though, you're that kind of person.
