Please excuse the spelling but yes a huge Nintendo fault is that of its boss. First Squaresoft fell to this lunatic, the two were good friends and then BAM this mad man threw a wobbly and the 64 had no Final Fantasy, Squaresoft are willing to forgive the bad tempered man but he isn’t and so whilst Squaresoft are ready to produce a game for the Nintendo Gamecube The big cheese isn’t and so the fans have to do without.
Does anyone remember the threat he made before E3; he said if it doesn’t go down well he’d cancel production. Ok it did go down well but YOU DON’T MAKE A THREAT LIKE THAT!
2. European gamers PAH!
What’s the point in having a UK Nintendo office if they don’t do anything? The Gamecube is coming long after the USA release Excite bike took a year to come out and so did Smash Brothers. We waited 6 months for Zelda Majora’s Mask as well! Look we are here you know, we have money and we will spend it but why must we wait for it!
Come on Nintendo we are here!
3. Advertisement
Ok now you should try! The GBA wasn’t bad but everything else is! A few adverts is that it! Playstation increases in popularity and you sell less and so although this affects you rather than the public it does affects the games as you have lower budgets! Please try making money!
4. Delaying
There may be good reasons etc… but if you can’t reach a deadline don’t set one! If I have to go through another Perfect Dark style wait I will SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!! If you said Perfect Dark would be released in June 2000 we might be able to cope but by snatching it away all the time that’s just cruel!
Maybe set a deadline that is way ahead of when you could finish it that way we might be happy like we were when Conker came out early rather than frustrated! So Delaying is a reason.
5. 3rd party
Why is it you design a console for you only? Nintendo design a console to suit their methods stuff the others! Sure Gamecube maybe easier but I bet Nintendo and their 2nd party developers can manipulate it fully. At least it isn’t as bad as the N64! Only Nintendo and Rare could make a good N64 game all the 3rd parties couldn’t so they didn’t which is why it didn’t get many 3rd party developers and is why it sold poorly!
6. Image
Many can see past the cute graphics but even more can’t and so Nintendo’s image attracts kids! And so 3rd party developers don’t want to risk bringing adult games to the console! Even when you make a potential adult title it turns out to look childish such as Lylat Wars. The fans don’t like it and so we get frustrated and so when an adult game comes out we go mad! It’s time you discarded your childish image for the future!
You have many faults Nintendo and faults that need sorting and these are faults that make me dislike Nintendo!

It doesn't matter whether
> they're childish or not, the fact is, they are percieved as childish
> and that is a very bad thing.
Is it? Why?
Surely with all the talk in the press about "games are bad for you", "Games turn you into killers" and all that crap, surely parents would feel..... safer I suppose is the word, if they bought a 'Cube?
Afterall, if the games are all cartoony and childish, there'll be no murder, no graphic cut scenes, no blood, no shooting. Why do people think that blood in a game makes it mature? It doesn't.
I'm 20, and I may consider getting a 'Cube. Why? Because the games are FUN. Thats what I want when I play games, I want to enjoy myself, I want to have fun. If the 'Cube can give me this then I'll buy one, regardless of the image or what other people think.
It's my money, I'll spend it on what I want thanks.

Yamauchi is an incredibly good businessman. Nintedno developed the 'CUBE primarily for their own titles. Squares support would boost sales, but why approach Square when they needyou more than you need them? After sinking so much cash into The Spirits Within, and working on their latest games, Square need to go multiplatform in order to become profitable again. What Square really need is to develop for the GBA. They could port the early FF games, up to part 6, across to the GBA for relatively little expense and make a huge profit. Why should Nintendo allow them to do this without getting something special from the deal. Nintendo are holding out to see a number of Square GAMECUBE games. Not necessarily exclusives, but Yamauchi at least wants to see the titles debut on the 'CUBE. If Sqaure need the money, they'll do it to, it will just taketime!

An empty threat from a proud man. Nothing more.

Indeed, Sony are the only company with a decent attitude towards the European games market, but I can see changes here. Yes Nintendo are still keeping us waiting for a launch date, but at least they'reholding their own show. It does show SOME commitment to the Euro market. To add to this they have now got a proper Nintendo of Europe (NOE) division set up, that will pay more attention to out needs, unlike THE Games.

Yep, Nintendo should advertise more, have roadshows, big competitions. Thing is, they do in Japan and America, the bad promotion was down to the distributor. Hopefully NOE will bring better promotion of games. As you said the GBA is an improvement over past consoles / handhelds, so it looks like they've turned that corner.
4. Delaying
Hardly an exclusive Nintendo problem this one, and as many a GT3 fan said, "If it makes the final game better, I don't mind the wait."
5. 3rd party
Why is it you design a console for you only?
Because the money is in the games you sell, especially 1st and 2nd party games.

It's not a childish image. Look at it from an adults perspective. It's a family console. It has games that appeal to all ages. I am looking forward to Pikmin, just as much as I am Eternal Darkess. Given that the PSX was popular with a generation of late teens to early twenties, many of these gamers may now be looking for a family console.
Plus, as Nintendo have always appealed to the young end of the market, gamers can grow up with Nintendo.
The Playstation was in the right place at the right time, with kids that loved thier NES, and SNES, discovering i, and seeing that it had the games that they wanted to play, games not available on the SNES, so they went out and bought Playstations. In coming generations parents will still buy Nintendo's for thier kids, so they can play the likes of Mario, and Pikmin, and as these young gamers grow, there will also be titles available for them, from the likes of Silicon Knights.
Besides, how can Nintendo shake the 'childish' image before even launching the console? Maybe wait to see what games are available after a year to see if Nintendo have managed to convince developers that their machine is one for all ages.
Besides, I'm not going to dismiss games because they might look 'childish', that seems daft, especially when they're so much fun!
I'd say that was you calling Nintendo childish!
Anyway I have a job interview at 10:30 so seeya later guys!
