Because Nintendo have better games.

Nintendo are extremley original most games on the Playstation have copied things from Nintendo games.

Donkey Kong, Mario 64, Pokémon and so many more Goldeneye revolutionised 1st person shooters an soon there will be Pikmin!

They are bigger than CD’s and have plenty of space! If games do become too big they can always use more than 1 disc as they are cheap to produce!
(Still no where near as good as DVD’s)
Nintendo’s use of the optical disc makes piracy extremley difficult and therefore not as common as other consoles, the disc also reduces production costs, it helps reduce the size of the machine and much more, also due to the size the loading times are greatly reduced!
(DVD’s have low loading times and are huge but I see why Nintendo decided to use the disc because of piracy but the Gamecube games are all childish anyway!)
What? What is a childish game? What scientific study proves this? What childish games are, are games such as Bob the builder and Teletubbies both of which are Playstation games. Pokémon and Mario granted look cute and childish the sort of thing girls and children enjoy but the game itself is playable for all ages, which is due to Nintendo’s image of a family console. Does blood and guts mean mature games? Sound something like a 10 year old would get excited about.

Because of it’s image, the company seem childish but if you look past the cute graphics you’ll see a brilliant piece of ingenuity most people who bother playing a Nintendo game a.k.a Pokémon enjoy it!

Actually the purple one does look a bit childish but I don’t think the black, silver etc… ones do, I was unsure of it’s look to start with but now I love it!

Better than Playstation 2 I can say that! It is a name that tells you what it is, a cube (well it isn’t but it looks like one) that plays games.

The absence of the CD player helps a great deal in the difficulty of pirating! As for DVD I would say Nintendo have the advantage here as the Panasonic Gamecube that allows DVD player gives people the choice of a low priced games console or a higher price games console DVD player combo, whilst the PS2 has no choice!

No it doesn’t! The Playstation was cheaper than the N64 and you always threw that in our faces and now that the situation has reversed you say doesn’t that tell you something? I tell you what it tells me it tells me Nintendo is cheaper!
(Good point but something that the Playstation did well over the 64 was have much more 3rd party support and Nintendo will always suffer in that department!)
Wrong, Namco have promised 3 GC games and they are rumored to be Tekken, Soul Caliber and Ridge Racer this would annoy Sony as Tekken was one of it’s selling points. Capcom have done the same thing Resident Evil 0 is Gamecube only, RE1 is rumored and RE4 is confirmed. Mickey Mouse is also on its way as well as street fighter! It looks to me as if 3rd party developers are willing to work with Nintendo this time.
(But still not as much as Sony that is what makes this side more powerful!)
Isn’t that a bit of a risk relying on 3rd party? And Nintendo may not have as much 3rd party but that was never their strength and even with 3rd party it still wouldn’t be!
(Look Nintendo games are an acquired taste! Not everyone loves Zelda and Pokémon, as they are too cute!)
Did I say Nintendo? Yes Nintendo is apart of it but there is the horror specialists 2nd party developer Silicon Knights that will be developing horror games throughout Nintendo’s life and starting with Eternal Darkness and Too Human! Rare ok have Banjo and Donkey Kong but with games such as Conker and Perfect Dark they help bump up the adult looking titles! Retro Studio’s and Metroid! They make adult titles it’s a shame about Raven Blade mind! And when it comes sports and racing titles there is the almighty left field who have made the excellent Excite bike and soon 1080 2 on the Gamecube! There are 2 more HAL who have made Smash Brothers and Camelot who have made Mario Tennis and golf so Nintendo have catered for everyone!

Eternal Darkness, Too Human, Perfect Dark 2, Conker 2, Metroid, Turok Evolution, Resident Evil 0, maybe Resident Evil 1 and defiantly Resident Evil 4! These are but a few and I know that would settle my violent and rude side for quite some time!

Only in driving simulations (GT3) but fast sure you have Wipeout but F Zero is just as good if not better! Specialist Racers are also a Nintendo specialty Excite bike, 1080 snowboarding and Wave Race and Mario Kart beats all other fun racers. And now Rare are developing their own breed of racer in the form of Donkey Kong Racing!
(Ok then beat ‘em ups)
As I said earlier Tekken and Soul Caliber one of the two or both are heading to Gamecube, personally nothing has beaten Smash Brothers and if Rare start developing Killer Instinct again then Nintendo will have that area well and truly wrapped up. Although I wish we would get Dead or Alive!

Dringo... earlier today when that was happening, it was the worst I have ever seen the FOG in... I was really tempted to leave.. but I returned later today with an emotional topic and just to say thanks to everyone for making this place sooo special.

I always thought the N64 had it far better at the water racing games like waverace and that but I've seen some pictures of this new PS2 title called Splashdown and well imagine the water effects in GT3 and in the find my own way demo and put them into a water sport game WOW!!!!!
