Yes, that was weird!

Why were they slipping?

Do you think they watered the grass, because the roof was closed, but it didn't dry out properly or something, and left it slippery?

I agree with Man U being much better in the secondhalf.

But I want to go back to something I said earlier. Why were there SO many players, or both teams, slipping over? Surely the roof was closed to stop the pitch getting wet?

He didn't slip, he threw his body in front of the ball.

That would have been fine, but the ball did ht his arm.

As he just got in the way, rather than the ball hitting him by accident, it should have been given as a penalty.

But it wasn't.

Man Utd were crap in the first half anyway, and didn't deserve to win, though they were easily the better team in the second half.

Both shots were on target and hit Henchoz's arm.
Lets put it this way - I've seem them given for less.

I know the rule book states handball in the box resulting in a penalty must be "intentional", but if it stops a shot on target - a potential goal - then for me it's a penalty.

If it was the other way round, I'd still say Liverpool should have had two penalties.

In one of the incidents the ball bounced off his leg and hit his arm. Hardly a deliberate hand ball.

For the second one, it looked to me like he slipped over (as LOADS of players did, I thought they shut the roof to stop the pitch getting wet!!) and the ball hit his arm as he fell over.

I think one of those penalties was ball to hand though, not hand to ball, and the referee seemed to interpret the rule that way as well.

As for Roy Keane, what DOES he think he was playing at after 40 seconds or so? He's a professional footballer, paid thousands of pounds a week, and he goes and blatantly trips up an attacking player in the penalty area.

Professional?

Should have been 3-2.
United had 2 sure-fire penalties disallowed!
Ref D'Urso had a shocker - he should have played advantage on several occasions, as well as missing the 2 United pens!
