My Socket A motherboards says, in the manual, that I can have a Duron 750 in there (which I have), or an Athlon 1000. So I wouldn't be able to run an Athlon 1100 in there?

Not sure, but the chances are great seeing as it was developed with professional development teams in mind who probably use dual-processor systems.

Well, I guess it's a good job I use 3ds max4 then. :)

don't bother. only server and specialist software such as intensive 3D design stuff that has been written especially for it will run any faster on a dual processor machine.

Oh well, maybe I'll jump up to a whole new level and buy a dual processor motherbaord and stick two athlon 1.4's in there! :D

Sorry about that.

If the Mobo can handle a 1000MHz chip, you won't be able to put a 1100MHz chip in there.

Ummm, that made no sense at all (I'm not talking about the fact you meant to write 1100 instead of 110). It says the FASTEST Athlon I can have is a 1000Mhz. I hope you can work out how your post doesn't make sense now.

No, because an Athlon 110 is faster than an Athlon 1000.
