It's a bit slow in here this morning.

It's funny watching the forums slowly kick into life, the other day I was unfortunate enough to have to start work at 8.30am, and the forums were dead. As soon as 9am came along they slowly picked up, until at about 9.30, they were well alive!

I guess that means it takes the averga person 30 mins to start work, so "morning" to everyone, check their email and grab a coffee, ready to start posting for 9.30.

However, today is another story all together. It's 10.27 now, and when I started writitng this, nothing had been posted in chat for the last hour or so.

Quite disturbing I think you'll agree......

Easy answer is to phone the police and not the council.

I'm not a legal eagle, I don't complain uneccesarily.

But when someone has done nothing wrong and has been threatened with legal action, then that someone should respond likewise.

The main thing is, never, ever reveal your hand to the other party. Any comments that are made, write them down with names etc, get stuff in writing and don't rant. Let the other person have their say, make note of it and then you can, at a later date, bring it all back up with facts, documents and proof.

Most people say stuff and forget about it, I only found out about the road not being theirs because the guy said it to make me go away. All I said was "So that road isn't Ealing then?" "No it's not, phone Hammersmith".
I did, it isn't and now we are where we are.

And the nice thing?
I have plenty of emails, letters and noted phone calls with every single thing that has ever been said in this matter.

I'm not being smug, I'm being aware that I have committed no offence whatsoever, have recieved threat after threat of legal action and have made sure that every single time, every single call, letter and email has been saved and filed.

You don't have to be a lawyer, just pay attention and listen.
Most times, people will dig their own hole.

GOATBOY FOR MAYOR!

Seriously though, you seem to have more brains than the lot round here...

There is a dumped car round the back of my house at the moment, and the locak kids/sh*ts are vandalising it. The council refuse to take it away because its still registered to someone.

How would it not be registered to someone?

Once upon a time they could.

All I am allowed to say is this, the indisputable facts without naming anyone:

Ealing Council have been, for a number of years, issuing parking tickets for a road that does not fall under their Borough Limits.
This is common knowledge in Ealing Council, yet for the past 6 years they have continued to issue fines and demand payment, often through the threat and use of legal action via Northampton Magistrates Court.

Except, because the road is not the responsibility of Ealing Council, any fines issued are invalid and any monies collected from these tickets are illegal.
And Ealing Council have admitted they they are aware this road is not theirs to claim on, yet continue to do so.

Therefore, due to prior knowledge of illegal issuing of tickets and a continued claiming on monies owed, these actions constitute fraud as defined by the common statutes of law.

That's all I can say legally on this.
And as a purely personal, not in any way related to this situation:
If you're going to throw legal issues at the public, make damn sure you don't start to hassle someone that is fiercely aware of civil legal issues and a member of several activist organisations that ensure civil liberties and rights are not abused by local government.

Thanks folks, I'm like Batman and sheet.

Goatboy, on a kind of "I can tell you, but then I have to kill you" type thing eh?

I can't believe that a parking ticket thing can go this far. They messed up, can't they just apologise with a bit of compensation or something?
