It sure is!
I won a race last night using a slightly tuned car. It was in the 80's Sports Car competition in the Beginner League.
I was in second coming out of the last corner on Seattle II, slipstreamed the leader out of the corner and up the start/finish straight, pulled out as we approached the line, and just managed to win by 0.009 seconds!
Now THAT was a feeling of elation! I couldn't feel that good if I'd used cheats.
I have used walkthroughs for some games, but only when I get really stuck - like on one of the Tomb Raider games. I can understand if you've been really trying for a couple of weeks or so and are getting frustrated; if you get frustrated with a game, then you start getting annoyed, and that can ruin the enjoyment.
Even so, I usually just look up the part I'm stuck on from some web site, get past that part, and then carry on without the rest of the guide.
Despite its name, the GT3 Official Winners' Guide does not contain any cheats, only tips on getting the best from your cars and the game in general. I know I've said it before, but I do recommend it if you have a tenner to spare.
>Whats the point of buying a game if your just going to sit there and have someone tell you how to play it????
Couldn't agree more, although this post will probably sound like contradiction but I did ask for a bit of guidance on GT3 from Wookiee and that's all he did, passed on a bit of advice which then enabled me to keep trying and complete the S Licence!
I can't believe some people have gone out and purchased a cheat gadget for GT3 already, which then gives them unlimited money, all the licences etc....what a waste of time!
Surely the whole point of buying a game is to try and complete it as far through as possible and maybe asking advice or picking up tips from sites like this, not just going out spending another £10 just so you can complete the game faster than anyone else.....what enjoyment does this give? (None as far as I can see)
I will admit to owning guides to the likes of FF7 & FF8 but I only purchased these after I had spent 60 plus hours playing each game and only used them after I had completed the game to see what I had missed (FF8 I never even completed, got bored).
PS2 games I haven't completed but have used hints and tips on are Extermination and thats only when you first meet the Roger thingy at the end ontop of the water tower and I still haven't beaten him yet! (probably something to do with GT3 turning up)
Leave the cheats alone until you are really stuck and then ask a question here, someone will always part with their knowledge and then the rest you can probably workout for yourself!
Thank-You.
