It's only on the Geocities site because the other one is pay per view.

Yeah, but you have to have the screenshots to back it up.

Also, if it was a geocitites site, it would be pretty obvious it's a windup!

It's the usual hype.

For example, I could post a quick story like:

"EXCLUSIVE!!! - Previously UNRELEASED screenshot from HALO on the GAMECUBE!!!! Only thought to have been in development for the X-BOX!!!! - EXCLUSIVE!!!"

Then mail it out to certain site like this:

"Dear webmaster, here's an exclusive for you:

http://www.geocities.com/ fantasymeisteruk/ "

And then it's all over the web in seconds. Easy as that.

But where do they get the screen shots from in the first place?

The lovely chaps at Upwire.com have posted a previously unseen set of images from the game, claiming them to be from a PS2 port. Activision would not comment on the matter today.

Where do you find out stuff like this?

Just phone people up and say "Got any good info for us today?"?

The story is NOT fake. I'd bet my Dreamcast on it.
