Originalaty: You won't want to do the same old thing you've done in every other game at least once
game length: I just hate buying a game and finishing it on the same or the next day
Gameplay: it doesnt make you want to play more if you can't control any thing you are doing in the game
story line: i dont mind about this one very much but it is always good to have this
graphics: I dont mind about this unless it doesn't make your eyes hurt after a while it is O.K with me
Sound: dont care about this one
this is my opinion and you may not agree with it
The 'prettier' Final Fantasy games i.e. 7,8,9 manage to have all of all these qualities, and that's why they sell so well. Game developers should take note methinks.
And EyeCandy, i disagree with you. I'll think you'll find that I am the god of gaming.
Seriously, all the elements are importaint to a degree but its the end result that matters.

Personally I'd put Gameplay over originality and game length, because if the gameplay is good then the rest of the game doesn't really matter that much.
The original Space Invaders or Tetris were ALL gameplay and not much else when you think about it that way.
Out of interest, if you personally can't decide which game to get, and you are considering the factors above, where do you go for advice? Reviews or ask a friend?
