Generally, I mean.

Ghost Recon was fundamentally flawed for demanding stealth when it wasn't really any fun in the actual game. Being cunningly tactical and using stealth are two different things, and so there was little stealth to be enjoyed in Rainbow Six 3.

While it was immensely satisfying sneaking around in air vents / under cameras / up behind guards in Deus Ex, the game leaned more towards doing this so you could eventually kill somebody, and thus getting past unnoticed was incredibly difficult. When you played Invisible War - wasn't it really hard to sneak past the seekers when escaping the complex at the beginning?

I haven't played Thief 3, but Deus Ex is the closest a FPS game that I've played has come to successfully implementing stealth - and even then, that wasn't true stealth; not MGS or Splinter Cell standards.

Basically what I'm saying is, if a FPS doesn't encourage stealth then I haven't got a problem with it - I'll get my stealth fix from genres more suited to that style.

The story mode was pretty good, but ultimately short lived. Worth going back to though. The arcade challenges were brilliantly varied and addictive, giving the game a huge life span and a great single player mode. The co-op was good fun, too.

The vast majority of FPS's don't provide the oppurtunity for stealth, and because TimeSplitters 2's gameplay was so perfect, I really didn't care that it wasn't any different. Stealth just isn't suited to the FPS genre.

Superb game.

I think TS2 holds it's own little corner of the FPS world rather well, if it had gone Live I think I would still be playing it today. As it is I fire it up every-so-often but it's no Perfect Dark by any means.

The good thing about C:DS is that it gets harder when you play co-op, the more people you have replacing the A.I. the tougher it becomes and you really have to work as a team.
