If you look back about… 8 years ago and look at gaming then you will see the two rivalling companies at that time Nintendo and Sega. These two were battling out for the console war and it was always pretty close. I was lucky, having a Sega console always in my house and my cousin heading for Nintendo I had the best of both worlds. I had some of Sonic and some of Mario! Well no one thought many companies would join in as the market was very level, but who would have thought that a new company in the market would create such a stir and in a way the market turned into a… love triangle.
So then we saw a young Sony making big money of innocent teenagers buying expensive hi-fis and getting filthy rich off of it. They decided to hop on the gaming wagon and make even more money and as Sony usually do make a revolution of it. They brought out something good and with nothing challenging it at that point as the Saturn was a big flop and the N64 was on its way. So then came the Playstation with at that time excellent graphics and some cool games. AS you can see this did very well in the console war.
As the new company joined the struggling company in the original console war ‘Sega seemed to get over run and had to pull out. Well as this pulled out there were two companies again… but wait didn’t someone else just sign the application form into the gaming world?
Is that Microsoft who just pulled into our driveway? Yes it appears to be. The console war is an even…or odd 3 and the question on most loyal gamers lips is... who will pull out next? Well personally I think the Gamecube will stand a good chance of winning and will not get thrown out of that gaming wagon. So who will it be? I think, or rather I know that these three companies will all stay around for a few years. Perhaps as Microsoft are making a console they will have something to fall back on if their console does not go down so well and that it namely the Pc. Since the Xbox is quite similar to someone’s PC and PC graphics are improving all the time maybe Bill gates is over his head this time.
I think another company will join the console sooner than we think and that means another will be pushed out of the wagon. I know a gaming company might take some interest like maybe EA or maybe Infogrames. The gaming wagon is getting so very complex we would never have guessed this would have happened and I think instead of people having a go at each other’s consoles they should just enjoy the intriguing games surrounding them.
So will the love triangle last or will it turn into a 4-way rumble? Who knows? Only the gaming god up in the gaming heavens…

Nice post.
I think Sony's PS1 only sucseeded due to supurb timing.
Me? I thinks that GameCube will not get thrown out of the Gaming wagon because it has superglue stuck to it.

A Love triangle and in the middle:
SEGA.
SEGA.
I do not think that there is room for 4 consoles in the market. It is a push for 3. Oh my curries have just arrived!

I agree. There is a kind of love triangle although I think Microsoft will pull out. Each console is geared to a different market, Nintendo for younger gamers and Sony for maturer gamers. The thing is, the Xbox is moving towards Sony's territory, which is a very bad idea. They need a unique selling point, and they ain't got one.
As for the 4th console, I think it could possibly be the Linux one, in whatever shape or form it emerges. I'm quite excited by it, and I'd buy one if it's any good.

Sory, only read the last question. I think it should be a 4 way rumble, as they're always more interesting to watch.
