For example, you often have a section where the game stops for a whle and resumes a year or more later (FF6) or a character who suddenly ages several years (FF4) or somethign else out of time?
And also, why is it that most of them contain a guy called Cid, usually an Airship Captain?
Lastly, they usually contain a "two arms and a body" Boss. For example:
Baigan (FF4)
Inferno (FF6)
Penance (FF10)
Why are these cliches present?

All of them contain a character called Cid, it's a little thing Square do, i wouldn't call it a cliche
